FPH UI students never stop making achievements both nationally and internationally. Shabrina Alfath Ramadhania, Regular Undergraduate student of Public Health Specializing in Epidemiology 2019, was chosen as the winner of the 2022 Depok Mpok Abang election.
Abang Mpok Depok is an event for the selection of Tourism Creative Economy and Tourism Ambassadors (Disporyata) for Depok City which has been held annually since 2002. Abang Mpok Depok 2022 aims to recruit young people who are expected to be role models and representatives of the younger generation in Depok City who have intellectual (IQ), emotional (EQ), and spiritual (SQ) balance.
Shabrina was chosen as Mpok Depok 2022 after going through various assessment series from 23 September 2022 – 22 October 2022 which started from Stage 1 Audition, Stage 2 Audition, Finalist Debriefing, Talent Show, Quarantine to Grand Final. This audition was attended by more than 90 participants representing each sub-district in Depok City.
In the judging process, depth of knowledge was tested in six sectors, foreign language proficiency; political science and government; knowledge of tourism, art, and culture; general knowledge and creativity; public speaking and personal branding; and psychology and personality.
“Motivated by the motivation to make a major contribution to the city of Depok as a place where I was born and grew up, I was moved to take part in the election for Abang and Mpok Depok. Through this participation I want to contribute to increasing positive views, disseminating various information on the achievements and potential of the City of Depok to the Indonesian people,” said Shabrina.
Participation and experience as an FPH UI student also helped Shabrina hone various skills and support her performance during the election event. Shabrina also explained that the learning experience during the Health Promotion and Public Health Field Study Practices courses became a provision for communicating when working directly with the community. Coupled with the 4R Culture (Respect to Time, Respect to System, Respect To People, Respect To Yourself) which is echoed in the organization and faculty committees which are very relevant to be implemented during the finalist debriefing period.
The series of Dream Project activities initiated by Shabrina, namely ‘Mamamia’ (Together with Abang Mpok Preventing Young Girls from Anemia) succeeded in analyzing the problem and presenting the results of the health promotion program to the Jury Board of Abang Mpok Depok 2022.
“FPH is of course proud of the various achievements its students have achieved. By becoming Mpok Depok, as a public figure, hopefully Shabrina will be able to have a more powerful influence in conveying motivation and health messages to the wider community, and be able to package them in a unique way,” said Head of the Public Health Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Robiana Modjo, S.K.M., M.Kes.
As Champion 1 or Choose Mpok Depok 2022, Shabrina will later become Mojang’s representative from Depok City in the Pasanggiri Mojang Jajaka West Java event which will be attended by delegates from 27 districts/cities which will be held in 2023. Congratulations and fighting spirit for Shabrina. (AHS)
