“FPH UI warmly welcomes the arrival of the Kyushu University delegation. Hopefully today’s meeting and discussion can provide new insights and knowledge and can give birth to useful collaborations, “said Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., in his speech. Prof. Shuji Shimizu from Kyushu University also gave a speech. “The education system for public health in Indonesia and Japan has several differences. I believe today’s meeting can be a means of exchanging knowledge, both for FPH UI and Kyushu University,” added Prof. Shuji Shimizu.
Generally, public health study programs in Japan are under the faculty of medicine. Therefore, Kyushu University appreciates FPH UI for being able to establish and become a leader for other public health faculties in Indonesia.
Another topic that was also discussed was public health issues. Indonesia and Japan have similarities in terms of disasters. However, Japan has a higher level of preparedness than Indonesia. “Indonesia is still trying to educate the public regarding disaster mitigation and build a society that is resilient and ready to face disasters,” said Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc. Apart from disasters, communicable and non-communicable diseases are also the focus of discussion.
FPH UI and Kyushu University plan to hold follow-up discussions to discuss the collaboration that will be carried out. It is hoped that the collaboration that will be carried out can run smoothly and provide benefits for FPH UI and Kyushu University. (WR)
