In the first presentation, an explanation was given regarding the Urgency of Synergy in the Implementation of Tracer Study and Employer Study UI by Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, M.Sc., Ph.D. It is stated that a tracer study or graduate survey is a survey of standardized graduates by educational institutions which is conducted sometime after graduation or at the end of education (Schomburg, 2016).
“Tracer studies are important because data and information are needed for fast and large-scale changes. However, until now in Indonesia not all tertiary institutions have carried out standardized tertiary level tracer studies in terms of quality, methodology and design,” said Dr. Ahmad Syafiq.
Furthermore, Dr. Ahmad Syafiq added that the role of tracer study itself is as the most important source of data for the development of higher education related to the relevance of education, where the learning output/outcome is graduates, so graduates (not users) are key evaluators.
The Head of Sub-Directorate for Tracer Study and Alumni Data Collection, Directorate of Graduate Career Development and Alumni Relations, University of Indonesia then added about the results of the FPH UI tracer study where the response rate for the 2022 tracer study for the average FPH UI alumni from S1-S3 is very good, namely 88% above the average -The average UI response rate is only 78%. The response rate for FPH S-1 alumni ranks 4th after FK, FF, FKG and FIK with a score of 90%.
Based on the results of the tracer study, it is known that 100% of graduates of the Bachelor of Nutrition and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) work in fields that match their further education background. The average graduate also has satisfaction with learning methods and campus facilities with an average score of 4.5 out of 5. As many as 81% of FPH graduates will also be working and 8% will be continuing their studies in 2022. The average waiting period for work for FPH UI graduates is 3 months. On average, FPH graduates also excel in the competence of teamwork, lifelong learning, ethics, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, tolerance, good adaptability, and integrity.
Since 2008, the University of Indonesia Tracer Study (TSUI) has been carried out by the Directorate of Graduate Career Development for UI Alumni Relations (DPKHA) due to the relevance of the TSUI population to DPKHA UI’s work targets, namely alumni/graduates. Since 2010, TSUI has been implemented centrally, sensally, online, routinely (every year), standardized, and covers all levels at UI (Vocational, Bachelor, Master, Doctoral). (wrk)
