Tuesday, 21 February 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the University of Indonesia (UI) held a joint audience with the Director for Provision of Health Personnel at the Indonesian Ministry of Health regarding online learning assignments. Present at this event were the Dean of FPH UI, Deputy Deans, Education Managers, Cooperation Managers, Alumni and Venture Relations, Chairs and Secretaries of the Public Health Undergraduate Study Program, Chairs and Secretaries of the Master’s Study Program, Chairs and Secretaries of the Doctoral Study Program and Collaboration Coordinator, Alumni Relations and Ventures.
This event was opened with remarks from the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc. Prof. Mondastri said that this study assignment was a strategic matter for FPH UI. “This study assignment funding program is very helpful, especially for prospective Master’s and Doctoral students at FPH UI. I hope that with this audience there will be feedback and directives, especially from the Directorate of Provision of Health Workers for the next steps in this program,” said Prof. Mondastri in his speech.
Next, dr. Ita Dahlia from the Directorate for Provision of Health Workers of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, gave a presentation on the Study Assignment Assistance Program of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. Doctor Ita explained that the transformation of human resources for health is one of the key pillars in the 6 pillars of health transformation. The transformation of health human resources is sought in the form of increasing student quotas, domestic and foreign scholarships, as well as facilitating the equalization of health workers graduating from abroad. Therefore, the Ministry of Health organizes a Learning Assignment Assistance Program under the Directorate for Provision of Health Personnel. This program is a scholarship for the education of health workers which is divided into two types, namely the fulfillment of health workers and the improvement of HRK qualifications. Public Health itself is the recipient of the second largest number of study assignment participants based on study programs at the University of Indonesia after Nursing. Doctor Ita Dahlia explained the implementation of Health HR education at the Ministry of Health in collaboration with 57 educational institutions.
In the question-and-answer session, Dra. Hj. Oos Fatimah, M.Kes., Director of Provision of Health Workers, who also provided answers to various questions raised. This session took place with quite a lot of questions from FPH UI. FPH UI very much welcomes this funding program and hopes that next year this program can be promoted simultaneously with the promotion of the master’s and doctoral levels at FPH UI. (aap)
