Human resources are an important and essential part of the running of the organization. As a public health university that is currently expanding its network and collaboration at the global level, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) needs to be strengthened by competent human resources in their respective fields. Placement of quality employees and in accordance with the demands of their duties is an important thing that needs to be considered by the organization.
Fulfilling the need for competent human resources can be achieved one way through the Talent Mapping Assessment which is an activity to assist organizations in exploring employee potential and competence, including strengths and what things still need to be developed. In addition, giving feedback can help employees identify things that help them develop more optimally.
FPH UI through the Human Resources Subunit conducted an assessment to map competencies and career paths for educational staff. The assessment took place on 26 -27 June 2023 attended by 18 education staff from various educational backgrounds and fields of work.
The assessment of educational staff is carried out by the Institute of Applied Psychology, Universitas Indonesia (LPTUI), which has so far conducted employee assessments in various agencies and institutions, including the Administrative Center and faculties within the University of Indonesia.
The criteria for educational staff assigned to undergo the assessment are educational staff with 1). Permanent Tendik with PNS/CPNS/PUI/CPUI status, 2). Maximum age of 48 years (10 years before retirement), 3). Have a minimum working period of 5 years.
“This assessment is expected to produce mapping documents and employee career paths based on competence, education, expertise, and employee capabilities so that employees can be mapped based on competency reference standards and Human Resource management,” said Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc., Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration of FPH UI regarding FPH UI’s expectations for the implementation of this assessment.
