“Art is one of the media to hone conscience, hone sensitivity and refinement of mind,” said Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs FPH UI. This statement is an invitation to teaching staff, students, and education staff not to forget to do art to balance their daily activities.
This invitation was stated at the launching of the 58th Anniversary of FPH UI which took place on Tuesday, 18 July 2023 where FPH UI residents were specifically given the opportunity to appear to fill in the agenda for art offerings.
Unexpectedly, this invitation was enthusiastically welcomed by FPH UI residents. It turns out that FPH UI residents have interesting artistic talents, starting from sound, dance, vocal groups, poetry readings to several musicians.
The faculty has also facilitated its citizens’ interest in art into a series of neat performances and succeeded in giving a different color and enthusiasm to the annual agenda to increase the age of the faculty this year. The security guard staff group gallantly led the audience into a chorus singing MARS FPH UI at the start of the event. MARS FPH UI itself is a creation resulting from a competition which is open to the public as an innovation in the framework of developing the FPH UI Integrity Zone towards a Corruption Free Area. Until now, MARS FPH UI has become a core part, opening every activity or academic forum held by the faculty. This appearance also shows the internalization of the Integrity Zone at the forefront of FPH UI services.
The next beautiful performance was presented by the dance group FPH UI Menari which consisted of 4 cross-unit female education staff, won third place in the Line Dance competition in the framework of the 2023 UI Anniversary, danced to a rhythm and the Batak song “Alusiau”.
Representing students, extraordinary talent was shown by soloist Ester Apriliani Telaumbanua, a 2022 Regular Undergraduate student of Public Health who performed the popular song “Prahara Cinta”.
The timing of the art performance is the key to an interesting event and succeeds in keeping the audience’s mood afloat and looking forward to the next performances. The sequence of artistic performances that inspire enthusiasm and joy is interspersed with a touching poetry presentation by Andrio Adiwibowo, son of the late Professor of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. dr. Adik Wibowo, M.P.H. The touching poem written by the deceased a few days before his passing reflects the enthusiasm and encouragement to do his best and loyalty to the profession until the end of his life. Not to forget, the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri K. Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., also contributed the poem “Olah Raga” by Remy Silado.
The series of art performances ended with the appearance of Adru Suhada, Secretariat Staff of the Department of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) FPH UI, who performed a classic pop song, and the exciting performance of the band Chandra and Friends with a series of nostalgic songs. The members of the Chandra and Friends band are a combination of Professors and cross-departmental teaching staff, namely Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Nutrition, PKIP, and K3 consisting of Prof. Dr. dr. Sudijanto Kamso, S.K.M.; Prof. Dr. dr. Sudarto Ronoatmodjo, S.K.M., M.Sc.; Prof. dr. Hadi Pratomo, M.P.H., Dr.PH .; dr. Chandra Satrya, M.App.Sc .; dr. Yoslien Sopamena, M.K.M.; Fatima Setyowati, Ph.D., and dr. Lhuri Dwianti Rahmartani, B.Med.Sc., M.Epid, D.Phil.
It is hoped that art performances from FPH UI members at faculty events will always take place on future occasions (sf).
