Thursday, August 24, 2023, journal managers at the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) under the coordination of the Research and Community Service Unit (URPM) took part in the Good Circulation of Journal Workshop with speakers from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, England, and member of the International Editor of the Public Health Journal, Prof. Don-Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III.
The activity which took place in Room B 206A was opened by the Chief Editor of the Public Health Journal, Dr. Al Asyary, S.K.M., M.P.H. “In preparing for accreditation of journals within FPH UI, especially the Public Health Journal, good journal circulation is needed. “Improving the workflow is also important to pay attention to, therefore this workshop was held at the same time as discussing plans to migrate Public Health Journals to Digital Commons,” said Dr. Al Ashary.
Furthermore, Prof. Don-Eliseo Lucero-Prisno III shared his knowledge and experience in the world of academic journals in the health sector by explaining several key strategies for international indexing, recruiting foreign manuscripts and bestselling partners, as well as improving journal management performance. “We have to build networks with many scientists throughout the world. That way we will get a lot of potential reviewers for the journals we have,” said Prof. Don.
Also attending this activity was the Chief Editor of the Journal of Indonesian Health Policy and Administration, Prof. Dr. Purnawan Junadi, M.P.H., Ph.D.; Chief Editor of the Indonesian Health Epidemiology Journal, Renti Mahkota, S.K.M., M.Epid., along with the secretariat/representatives of the chief editors of the journals of each department.
