Taking Part in the Short Mobility Program at Mahidol University Thailand, 5 FPH UI Students Studied the Health System in Thailand

A total of five students from the Bachelor of Public Health, Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI), consisting of Yolanda Claudia Zipora, Rahmakarina Ekoputri Desabrina, Hanifditya Naufal Hidayat, Nadhira Zahrany Wishnuputri, and Varian Almerridho have just taken part in the short mobility program at the faculty. of Public Health, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Held on 17 – 26 March 2024, this activity has the theme “Health Issues, Healthcare, Welfare, and Health System in Thailand”.

In this program, students learn about health services, infectious and non-communicable diseases, elderly health, and environmental health issues in Thailand. Apart from that, students will also carry out site visits to the Emergency House for Women and Children and the Foundation for Children: Orphan Care Center and be introduced to Thai culture by taking a city tour to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and taking part in the Thai Food Class.

The participants in this short mobility program come not only from FPH UI but also from the School of Health and Nursing Science, Japan and the Bali Institute of Technology and Health (ITEKES Bali). Apart from studying the health system in Thailand, the participants also discussed the health systems in Indonesia and Japan and learned about the differences in health services between Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia.

“Through this short mobility program activity, we were able to learn a lot about the healthcare service system in Thailand which apparently has many similarities but also significant differences with Indonesia. “The participants were also able to get to know the culture in Thailand, as well as make lots of new friends as a basis for our networking in the future,” said Yolanda Claudia Zipora, expressing her impressions after participating in the short mobility program at Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand.

FPH UI Student Affairs Manager, Dien Anshari, Ph.D., who accompanied these five students to Mahidol University, also expressed his appreciation for the achievements of FPH UI students in the first quarter of 2024. “Thank you to FPH UI students who in 2024 have achieved many make a real contribution to realizing the vision of becoming an institution with an international reputation by participating in competitions and student exchange programs, including to Thailand. “Hopefully the achievements at the beginning of this year can increase motivation for other students to take part at the international level,” said Dien Anshari, Ph.D. (wrk)
