The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) is again proud of the achievements achieved by its students. On March 28, 2024, three FPH UI students from the 2022 Regular Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health (OHS) study program, namely Duta Catur Agil Darsono, Ni Putu Indriati Peramarani, and Syafiq Fawwaz won 2nd place in the Smart and Safety Competition (SASECOM) essay competition 2024 organized by the Occupational Safety and Health Forum, Faculty of Public Health, Diponegoro University.
The team consisting of three FPH UI students initiated an essay entitled “Digital Assessment-Based Fatigue Prevention Efforts for Logistics Drivers Using the DRIFT (Driving Fatigue Alert) Application”. It is hoped that the ideas in this essay can prevent work accidents due to fatigue in logistics drivers. “Raising the theme of driving safety, we initiated the idea for the DRIFT application based on the awareness that since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, shopping activities via e-commerce have increased. “As a result, logistics needs are also increasing, which then causes many logistics drivers to feel overwhelmed and experience fatigue,” said Duta. Fatigue or work exhaustion felt by the driver can later be detected using the DRIFT application.
During the competition selection process, Duta admitted that he received great support from FPH UI. “The OHS FPH UI lecturers themselves, especially Mas Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc., always motivate us to continue to excel. “Mas Ading also often shares competition information with students,” said Duta. Apart from lecturers, FPH UI Student Affairs also plays a role in increasing the motivation of FPH UI students to continue to excel. The FPH UI Student Executive Board (BEM) and department associations which always give appreciation to students are also considered to be able to improve the achievement climate among FPH UI students.
FPH UI Student Affairs Manager, Dien Anshari, Ph.D., said that FPH is certainly proud of the achievements achieved by the Ambassador and the team. “The hope is that FPH UI students can continue to have the motivation to excel so that they have a good impact on themselves and FPH UI both nationally and internationally,” concluded Dien Anshari, Ph.D. (WR)
