FPH UI Inaugurates 2026 Student Organization Leadership, Encourages Innovation and Active Student Participation

Depok, February 21, 2026 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Universitas Indonesia held the 2026 Student Organization Handover Ceremony (Sertijab) at the Doctoral Promotion Room of FPH UI. The event served as the official forum for inaugurating the new student organization leadership and transferring the leadership baton from the 2025 to the 2026 period. Initiated by the Student Representative Council of the FPH UI Student Association (MPM IM FPH UI), the ceremony included the inauguration of Independent Members, the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board (BEM IM FPH UI), and the heads of various student associations for the 2026 term.

Beyond being a formal inauguration ceremony, the event also provided a space for reflection on organizational achievements through the presentation of the 2025 Accountability Report (LPJ) of MPM IM FPH UI and the reading of student organization accreditation results. The report underscored the commitment to transparent and accountable organizational governance, while also serving as a foundation for drafting the strategic agenda of the 2026 leadership. Several ongoing programs were assessed as contributing positively to academic dynamics, student interest and talent development, and the strengthening of student organizational culture at FPH UI. These achievements are expected to continue with a more measurable and impactful approach.

In her remarks, the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., emphasized the importance of active student participation in enhancing academic engagement and achievement. Based on evaluations compiled by BEM IM FPH UI as a representation of student aspirations, student organizations are expected not only to function as information channels but also to proactively encourage student involvement in various strategic programs.

The Dean highlighted opportunities to increase participation in student achievement programs, University-level Student Creativity Program (PKM) grants, and national competitions such as IPHO. In addition, strengthening student entrepreneurship, including optimizing student cooperatives, was seen as an important step in building student independence and leadership capacity. This message reaffirmed that student organizations play a strategic role as drivers of participation, facilitators of potential development, and partners of the faculty in enhancing academic reputation.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Sub-Directorate of Student Organizations and Affairs at Universitas Indonesia, Ns. Yudi Ariesta Chandra, S.Kep., Ph.D., conveyed adjustments in the university’s student governance structure. This change reflects a shift in the university’s leadership paradigm, positioning student affairs as an integral part of the research and innovation ecosystem. Technically, student affairs management is divided into two directorates: the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, which handles scholarships and competitions, and the Student Organization Office, which oversees student organizations, funding and activity permits, and the use of PUSGIWA facilities. This structure is expected to encourage more systematic student achievement and contribute to the university’s sustainable reputation.

Through this handover ceremony, the 2026 FPH UI student organization leadership is expected to integrate student aspirations with the strategic direction of the faculty and university. This synergy is key to building student organizations that are active, professional, and relevant to global challenges in public health.
