Depok, February 5, 2026 — Efforts to share information about public health education continue to be carried out by the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Universitas Indonesia, one of which was through an educational visit by 150 students from SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta on Thursday (5/2) at the Doctoral Promotion Room of FPH UI.
The visit served as an opportunity for the students to gain a comprehensive overview of higher education options, particularly in the field of public health. The group was welcomed by the Manager of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Alumni, and Internationalization of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., along with the Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program, Fitri Kurniasari, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.
In her presentation, Dr. Laila Fitria explained the general profile of FPH UI as a faculty that provides comprehensive and sustainable public health education. She stated that at the undergraduate level, FPH UI offers four study programs: Undergraduate Program in Public Health, Undergraduate Program in Nutrition, Undergraduate Program in Environmental Health, and Undergraduate Program in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS).
“Through this activity, FPH UI aims to openly share information with students regarding education in the field of public health. We introduced the admission pathways to Universitas Indonesia, scholarship opportunities, learning systems, as well as an overview of the curriculum and tuition fees so that students can prepare themselves from an early stage,” said Dr. Laila.
She added that the learning methods at FPH UI are designed not only through classroom learning but also through field practice, with an interdisciplinary approach supported by nationally and internationally reputable lecturers.
“FPH UI is committed to producing graduates who are not only academically excellent, but also possess social awareness, critical thinking skills, and readiness to contribute to society,” Dr. Laila added.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program, Fitri Kurniasari, Ph.D., specifically presented information regarding the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program at FPH UI. She explained that the program focuses on protecting public health through the management and control of environmental factors.
“Students in the Undergraduate Environmental Health Program at FPH UI study the relationship between the environment and human health, ranging from water and air quality, waste management, sanitation, to food safety,” explained Fitri.
She further noted that the learning process is supported by laboratory facilities, practical and research activities, as well as faculty involvement in various studies and cross-sector collaborations.
“Graduates of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Program at FPH UI have broad career prospects, including in government institutions, industries, consulting firms, as well as national and international organizations,” she stated.
Through this educational visit, FPH UI hopes that students will gain complete and accurate information as preparation for determining their future study choices.
