FPH UI Student Wins 3rd Place in UI Outstanding Student Selection 2026 with Digital-Based Disaster Nutrition Innovation

Depok, April 1, 2026 – A proud achievement has been made by a student of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI). Amira Puji Hastuti, a 2023 undergraduate Nutrition student and the 1st Place Winner of the 2026 FPH UI Outstanding Student Selection, successfully won 3rd Place in the 2026 Universitas Indonesia Outstanding Student Competition.

The Universitas Indonesia Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres UI) was held over three days, from March 25–27, 2026, through a series of selection stages that included assessments of outstanding achievements, psychological tests, and participants’ communication skills.

Throughout the process, Amira presented her achievements while reflecting on the journey behind them—including the challenges, strategies, and lessons learned from various experiences such as competitions, organizational activities, project development, and her involvement as a judge.

In addition, the selection process provided Amira with the opportunity to gain deeper self-awareness and learn from the diverse perspectives of participants from different faculties.

In the competition, Amira introduced an innovative project titled “EMERGEN-ZI: Website ChatBot as an Integrated Disaster Nutrition Information System to Address Child Nutrition Problems Caused by Flooding in Kedungwaringin Village, Bogor Regency.” The innovation focuses on developing a digital platform that integrates various aspects of disaster nutrition management. Through this system, data coordination, aid distribution, and nutritional status monitoring for vulnerable groups are expected to be carried out more effectively, rapidly, and systematically.

Beyond her innovation, Amira also demonstrated strong global communication skills during the English speech session. In her speech on the issue of overfishing, she highlighted the impacts of excessive marine resource exploitation on ecosystem balance and the sustainability of human life, while encouraging the audience to become more aware of sustainable fishing practices.

The Dean of the Faculty of Public Health Universitas Indonesia (FPH UI), Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., expressed high appreciation for the remarkable achievement. According to her, this accomplishment serves as clear evidence that FPH UI students are capable of combining academic excellence with innovations that address current public health challenges.

“This achievement reflects the quality of FPH UI students, who are not only academically excellent but also responsive to real-world problems through relevant innovations,” said Prof. Indri in her statement. She also expressed hope that this accomplishment would inspire other students to continue expanding their contributions at both national and international levels.

This success further reinforces the position of FPH UI students as agents of change who excel not only in the classroom but also in responding adaptively to real challenges in society. Through the integration of academic excellence and social awareness, the innovation presented has proven capable of generating meaningful impact.

Moving forward, Amira’s achievement is expected to inspire other students to continue excelling, innovating, and contributing to addressing various public health challenges at both national and global levels. (wrk)
