FPH UI Welcomes a Visit from SMAIT Ihsanul Fikri Magelang

Depok, 7 January 2026 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Universitas Indonesia (UI), welcomed a visit from SMAIT Ihsanul Fikri Magelang on Wednesday (7/1). A total of 84 students were received at Hall G, FPH UI, as part of an introduction to university life and the field of public health.

The visit was welcomed by the Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si.; the Head of the Undergraduate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Study Program, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc.; the Secretary of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program, Dr. Eng. Stevan Deby Anbiya Muhammad Sunarno, S.K.M., M.K.K.K.; as well as the Coordinator of the Academic Administration Subunit of FPH UI, Amalia Kuswarjanti, S.K.M.

In her presentation, Amalia Kuswarjanti, S.K.M. explained the general profile of FPH UI as one of the oldest faculties at Universitas Indonesia, while also providing information on the curriculum, tuition fees, student admission pathways, facilities, and various student achievements.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si. introduced the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program, which focuses on protecting public health through the management of environmental factors. “Environmental Health students are equipped with competencies to analyze and control environmental risks, ranging from water, waste, and sanitation to pollution, in order to create a healthy and sustainable environment,” she explained.

From the field of occupational health and safety, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc. described the role of the Undergraduate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Study Program in protecting the workforce. “The OSH Study Program prepares graduates who are capable of identifying, assessing, and controlling risks in the workplace, thereby creating a safe, healthy, and productive working environment,” he stated.

Furthermore, Dr. Eng. Stevan Deby Anbiya Muhammad Sunarno, S.K.M., M.K.K.K. presented the multidisciplinary scope of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program. “Public Health examines comprehensive efforts to improve population health status, ranging from health promotion and disease prevention to health policy and health services management,” he explained.

The activity was conducted interactively with a question-and-answer session guided by FPH UI students, namely Siti Zahra Fauzia (Undergraduate Public Health), Shandy Audina Khairina Ahza (Undergraduate Environmental Health), and Mutiara Hardiyan (Undergraduate Nutrition). The students showed great enthusiasm in exploring information about academic life, student experiences, and career prospects of FPH UI graduates.

This visit is expected to broaden the horizons of SMAIT Ihsanul Fikri Magelang students while also inspiring them in determining their future study choices in the field of public health. FPH UI remains committed to opening its doors to high school student visits as part of its institutional role in educating the younger generation and introducing the strategic contributions of public health to national development.
