Strategic Synergy between FPH UI and the Hermina Institute of Health: Toward the Gold Standard of Hospital Management in Indonesia

Jakarta, January 21, 2026 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Universitas Indonesia (UI), has officially established a strategic partnership with the Hermina Institute of Health (Inkesna) to strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education in the field of public health. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement was held at Hermina Tower, 16th Floor, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.

The event was attended by leaders from both institutions, including the President Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk, Dr. Yulisar Khiat, S.E., M.A.R.S.; Chair of the Hermina Education Foundation, drg. Susy Setiawaty, M.A.R.S., FISQua; Vice Rector I of the Hermina Institute of Health, Dr. Shinta Silaswati, S.Kp., M.Sc., FISQua; as well as members of the FPH UI Deanery. The collaboration encompasses education, research, community service, enhancement of publication quality, and human resource development.

In her remarks, the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., expressed her appreciation and warmly welcomed the collaboration initiative. Prof. Indri emphasized that integration between educational institutions and healthcare service providers is key to addressing increasingly complex global health challenges.

“We are pleased to welcome this collaboration as a concrete step toward synergizing the academic capacity of FPH UI with the practical network of the Hermina Institute of Health,” said Prof. Indri. “We hope that this partnership will generate new breakthroughs that not only benefit students and faculty members, but also contribute directly to improving the quality of public health services on a broader scale,” she added.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk, Dr. Yulisar Khiat, S.E., M.A.R.S., outlined the broader vision behind the collaboration. With a network currently comprising 55 hospitals and a target of reaching 70 hospitals by 2030, the availability of “work-ready” hospital management human resources has become a top priority for Hermina.

“We expect this collaboration to strengthen applied research and support the Hermina Institute of Health in achieving excellent accreditation (BAN-PT/LAMPTKes),” said Dr. Yulisar. He also highlighted the added value of co-teaching and practitioner lecturers who will bring real hospital cases into the classroom.

Beyond the signing ceremony, the meeting also served as a strategic forum to explore opportunities for competency development through a presentation of the Master’s Program in Hospital Administration Studies (KARS) at FPH UI by Dr. drg. Masyitoh, M.A.R.S. The session underscored the importance of an adaptive curriculum in producing hospital managers capable of responding to future industry challenges.

Equally important, efforts to strengthen scientific literacy were discussed in depth by the Editor-in-Chief of the Kesmas Journal, Prof. Dr. Dra. Dewi Susanna, M.Kes. Prof. Dewi highlighted the crucial role of reputable scientific publications as a platform for practitioners and academics within the Hermina network to disseminate applied research and healthcare service innovations at both national and international levels.

This strategic partnership between FPH UI and the Hermina Institute of Health is expected to serve as a strong foundation for sustainable and impactful collaboration. Through synergy between academia and healthcare practice, both institutions are committed to jointly fostering innovation, enhancing human resource capacity, and making concrete contributions to strengthening Indonesia’s public health system, in line with the spirit of FPH UI as an institution with noble values and excellent performance.
