FPH UI Explains Entrance Selection Route for Jakarta Global Islamic School High School Students

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) as one of the best public health education institutions in Indonesia, is a special attraction for prospective students, one of which is the Jakarta Islamic School (JIS) high school students. On Monday, January 15, 2024, JIS High School students and students carried out a study visit to FPH UI to find out more information on the selection for new student admissions at FPH UI. Received in Hall A of FPH UI, 80 students and 5 teachers received information from three sources, namely the Academic Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Head of the FPH UI Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program, Dr. Ir. Diah M. Utari, M.Kes.; and Head of the Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.Si., M.K.M.

“FPH UI is currently accepting prospective undergraduate students for regular and non-regular classes. “Regular students can register via the SNBP, SNBT or SIMAK route, while non-regular students can register via the PPKB or SIMAK route,” explained Dr. Laila explained information about the entry selection route for prospective new students. Each entry route has different strictness for each study program. FPH UI itself has four undergraduate programs, namely the Public Health Undergraduate Study Program, the Nutrition Undergraduate Study Program, the Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program, and the Occupational Safety and Health (K3) Undergraduate Study Program.

“It is hoped that FPH UI Nutrition Bachelors will be able to manage nutrition and health programs in both institutions and communities, from planning to evaluation, based on a strong theoretical understanding,” said Dr. Diah explained the profile of the Undergraduate Nutrition Study Program. The Bachelor of Nutrition Study Program is one of the study programs at FPH UI which is not only nationally accredited but also internationally accredited by the ASEAN University Network (AUN). All undergraduate study programs at FPH UI itself have been accredited as Superior from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Indonesian Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes).

Furthermore, Dr. Ema explained the profile of the Environmental Health Undergraduate Study Program. “Environmental Health graduates are expected to be able to analyze environmental exposure risks, predict health impacts due to environmental exposure, and develop alternative solutions to environmental health problems in accordance with technological advances as well as applicable ethics and laws,” said Dr. Ema.

Apart from presenting the general profile and study programs at FPH UI, the students participating in the visit were also enthusiastic in asking questions about scholarships, job prospects, and even the contribution of FPH UI students to health development in Indonesia. (wrk)
