Tuesday, March 2, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a management meeting in the context of monitoring and evaluating quarter 1 performance achievements. The number of performance contract indicators handed down to FPH UI in 2024 has decreased from the previous year. In 2023 there will be 69 indicators, while in 2024 it will change to 65 indicators. Of the 65 indicators in the first quarter, performance achievements in the scope of faculty management have achieved good results of 168%.
The highest performance results were achieved by the Research and Community Service Unit, amounting to 700 percent. The following is the percentage of achievement for each field in quarter 1, namely units under the Faculty Secretary (Sekfak, Adum, Public Relations, and LHA) 49.29%, Quality Assurance Units (UPMA and UPMNA) at 68.42%, Education Units (Education Administration) at 54.62%, Student Affairs Unit 30.52%, Research and Community Service Unit (URPM and Journal) 374.58%, and General Unit (Deputy General Manager, Finance, HR, Pusinfo, IT, Facilities) 30.53%, as well as Cooperation, Alumni Relations and Venture Units amounted to 49.59%.
“The initial quarter is an important time, because to anticipate the results of this initial quarter we still have up to 9 months ahead. The achievement of the performance contract at the University of Indonesia also has a direct effect on the calculation of annual service benefits (annual bonus). “So, we are very grateful that FPH always provides this annual service fee and so we need to always be enthusiastic about providing the best for the faculty,” said Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, FPH UI, Dr. Asih Setiarini at the opening of the meeting.
The meeting, which was attended by all faculty leaders, managers, and coordinators, also discussed various obstacles faced by each unit and also suggestions that could be taken. One of the challenges faced by the faculty in the first quarter was the selection period for new student admissions which felt short so that promotional efforts were not sufficient. To overcome this, FPH UI Cooperation, Venture and Alumni Relations Manager, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati proposed that registration of new postgraduate students be held twice, of course in collaboration with PMB UI.
Other information that emerged in the discussion was the plan to establish an Integrated Laboratory under URPM which is currently in the process of laboratory certification. The closest agenda to be implemented is the comparative test and proficiency test as a prerequisite for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation. ISO 17025;2017 is an international standard that establishes the requirements for the technical competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This standard provides guidance regarding quality and technical management that must be implemented in laboratory operations.
Apart from the management meeting, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, there was a leadership meeting chaired by the faculty leaders and attended by management along with department heads, study program heads, laboratory heads, journal heads, and LPPKM heads. The leadership meeting had the agenda of presenting the performance achievements of all work units in the faculty outside the dean’s management and discussing the obstacles faced in the process of achieving the performance contract.
“Like a car, we have just started and are at the beginning of the journey, ladies and gentlemen, so there is no need to worry, things that have not yet been fully achieved can still be pursued in the coming quarters,” concluded the chairman of the meeting, Dr. Milla Herdayati, Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and Administration FPH UI.
