FPH UI Public Health Journal and Directorate of Administration, Data and Management of Innovation Research Products (DADPPRI) Discuss Migration Plans to Digital Commons

On September 21, 2023, Kesmas: National Public Health Journal (National Public Health Journal), one of the journals under the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI), attended a meeting held by the Directorate of Administration, Data and Management of Innovation Research Products (DADPPRI) in the DADPPRI Meeting Room, 1st Floor, ILRC Building, UI Depok Campus.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Public Health’s plans for migrating the Digital Commons (DC) platform. Since 2015, Public Health, which was initially only a print journal, has expanded into the digital area using a platform called the Open Journal System (OJS). This platform is used by many journals in Indonesia, including journals within the UI environment. However, at the end of 2022, the platform used by almost all journals in the UI environment was hacked. Luckily Public Health and other journals in the FPH UI environment were not affected, but since then, DADPPRI has advised journals in the UI environment to migrate their systems to Digital Commons (DC).

The meeting was attended by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Research and Innovation Product Management, Laras Sekarasih, S.Psi., M.S., Ph.D.; FPH UI Research and Community Service Manager who is also the Supervisor and member of the Public Health Editorial Board, Prof. Doni Hikmat Ramdhan, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; Chief Editor of Public Health, Dr. Al Asyary, S.K.M., M.P.H., as well as the Public Health journal manager and DADPPRI staff decided that the Public Health Journal would soon migrate to DC. The migration process, starting from choosing the layout, domain name, and so on, can be carried out simultaneously with preparing backup metadata from OJS. In addition, Public Health is advised to remain at OJS until the November 2023 edition is published. This is related to the reaccreditation process for the Science and Technology Index (SINTA). The publication process at DC could start from the February 2024 edition. (Dif)
