The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) as the oldest public health educational institution in Indonesia is often a reference in various fields for comparative studies for other public health institutions. As was the case on Friday, November 10, 2023, FPH UI received a comparative study visit from FPH Mulawarman University (Unmul). Received in the RIK Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, the three leaders of FPH UI, namely the Dean, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Deputy Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., and Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Sc., was present to discuss with FPH Unmul.
The comparative study, which aims to study the curriculum, human resource management and management of the Master’s Study Program, construction of the Integrity Zone, as well as discussions on signing the cooperation agreement, was attended by 8 participants from FPH Unmul. Consisting of the Dean Prof. Dr. Iwan Muhamad Ramdan, S.Kp., M.Kes.; Deputy Dean for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, Ratih Wirapuspita Wisnuwardani, S.K.M., M.P.H., Ph.D.; Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Ratno Adrianto, S.KM., M.Kes., along with study program heads, lecturers and staff.
“For the three agendas that we want to convey through this visit, I think they can all be implemented. Discussions regarding the current Integrity Zone Development can be discussed with Dr. Milla and Dr. Asih as a team was directly involved starting from the application for the title of Corruption Free Region (WBK). “Meanwhile, for cooperation, I think a special meeting will have to be held later because the signing of the cooperation agreement is between universities,” said the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., started the discussion.
The next discussion discussed more about the Development of Integrity Zones (ZI) at FPH UI. Various good practices that have been implemented at FPH UI were presented in turn by Dr. Asih and Dr. Milla.
“ZI’s development aims to provide effective and efficient services to the community. There we are required to provide innovation in service. FPH UI provides various innovations in the form of digitizing services, where we built 14 applications that can be used to facilitate services and work. Digitalization is at the core of our innovation when applying for WBK. Apart from that, work units are also required to have a wow factor that can be attractive and differentiate them from other work units. “FPH UI, among other things, has been greatly helped by having ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 37001:2016 certification,” explained Dr. Asih conveyed the process of applying for FPH UI as a ZI-WBK area. Doctor Asih also added that customer satisfaction is also an important thing assessed by the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB). Therefore, carrying out customer satisfaction surveys is a necessity in the faculty.
Furthermore, Dr. Milla conveyed the first step that FPH Unmul should take, namely forming a separate team which would later handle the development of ZI in its faculty. “FPH UI formed a Faculty Secretary to accommodate the needs of ZI development so that it is more focused on overseeing teams related to ZI. Apart from the ZI Development team, there is also a change agent team and an internal survey team that we have formed. “Apart from that, we also formed a Faculty Service Unit (ULF) as our integrated service unit,” explained Dr. Milla. Apart from that, Dr. Milla said that introducing ZI and internalizing values in the Tri Dharma aspect of higher education is something that must really be worked on. “We incorporate all elements of ZI into all faculty activities and new student orientation activities. “As far as possible, what is done in ZI can be introduced, then formalized so that it can be implemented sustainably in the faculty,” added Dr. Milla. In essence, the development of ZI in the faculty will be felt in improvements in management, workflow, structure, and the values held by everyone.
“Thank you very much, Prof. Mondastri, Dr. Asih, and Dr. Milla. We feel that efforts to increase the capacity of our agency in the aspect of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and increasing faculty performance achievements will be better after carrying out bandi studies at FPH UI. “We received a lot of insights that we can later apply in our faculty environment,” said the Dean of FPH Unmul, Prof. Dr. Iwan Muhamad Ramdan, S.Kp., M.Kes.
