The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) signed a collaboration with the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health Jakarta III (Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta III) on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was carried out as an effort to build and strengthen institutions in implementing Tri Dharma of Higher Education and discussing research plans.
“Partnering with universities, organizations/communities, policy makers, the business world and industry is in line with FPH’s vision and mission in advancing health in Indonesia. “Of course, this collaboration gives hope in building and strengthening institutions related to the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education, research and community service,” said the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., in his speech. This signing was also attended by the Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures and General Administration, Dr. Milla Herdayati, S.K.M., M.Si.; Cooperation Manager, Alumni and Venture Relations, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; Head of Department and Head of the K3 Undergraduate Study Program, Mila Tejamaya, S.Sc., MOHS., Ph.D.; Head of the IKM Doctoral Study Program, Dr. dra. Rita Damayanti, MSPH.; Professor of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Adang Bachtiar, M.P.H., D.Sc.; Head of the KARS Masters Study Program, Dr. Ede Surya Darmawan, S.K.M., M.D.M.; as well as the Secretary of the K3 Department and Head of the K3 Laboratory, Dr. Hendra, S.K.M., M.K.K.K.
Director of Poltekkes Kemenkes Jakarta III, Yupi Supartini, S.Kp., M.Sc., also gave a speech at this event. “In pursuing high-quality education, the Ministry of Health Polytechnic III is developing research and community service (community service). There are 7 research projects that are being pushed for patent and downstream processes. For community service, we collaborate with DKI Jakarta and Bekasi City so that we currently have 9 assisted areas. The potential for carrying out research, regional development, journal publication of research, and expanding community service has very good potential with this collaboration. “For this reason, we will continue to coordinate in the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education as a form of implementation of the collaboration that we signed with FPH UI,” said Yupi Supartini.
Discussion of the agreement from FPH UI was conveyed by several study program heads. Head of the IKM Doctoral Study Program, Dr. dra. Rita Damayanti, MSPH., conveyed her offer to be able to make initial preparations for prospective IKM UI doctoral applicants and plans to prepare a fast-track program for D4 Health Promotion students at the Ministry of Health Jakarta III Polytechnic who will continue their studies in the FPH UI professional study program. Mila Tejamaya, S.Si, MOHS., Ph.D., as Head of the Department and Head of the S1 K3 Study Program and Dr. Hendra, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., as Secretary of the K3 Department and Head of the K3 Laboratory, provided the opportunity to discuss the opening of the K3 study program at the Ministry of Health Jakarta III Health Polytechnic and offered facilities in the form of the K3 Laboratory and the Occupational Safety and Health Center of Excellence to conduct training and K3 practicum.
Head of the Depok Health Service, dr. Mary Liziawati further conveyed health problems referring to the main performance indicators of the Depok Health Service (Dinkes). Some indicators that have not been achieved include increasing maternal and infant mortality rates, stunting which is a national priority issue, reducing the number of active smokers and preventing new smokers, ODF (Open Defecation Free) and septic tank ownership, anemia in young women, and infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. and HIV/AIDS. “With this collaboration, these problems can be used as research material and get the best interventions, so that policies can be formulated to improve program achievements in the health sector,” said Dr. Mary.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) was also attended by a Delegation from the Ministry of Health Jakarta III Health Polytechnic and 4 people from the Depok Health Service in Building A RIK UI. (ITM)
