On Monday, September 4, 2023, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed the arrival of 10 students majoring in nutrition from Universiti Malaya and Universitas Kebangsaan Malaysia who will take part in a series of Nutrition-University Indonesia Credit Earning Program (UI-CREATES) activities. Held in the FPH UI Professor’s Room, the reception for nutrition students from neighboring countries was attended by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Head of the Nutrition Department, FPH UI, Dr. Ir. Trini Sudiarti, M.Sc., and Manager of Cooperation, Alumni Relations and Ventures FPH UI, Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.
The series of Nutrition UI-CREATES events opened with an introduction to FPH UI as a pioneer in the development of public health science in Indonesia, the job prospects of its graduates and hopes for the benefits of Nutrition UI Creates activities.
“Hopefully, through this activity, students can use it as a place to get to know each other, exchange ideas and experiences, and build sustainable relationships,” said Prof. Mondastri. Apart from that, nutrition students are also expected to not only increase their knowledge in the field of nutrition but also expand into the realm of public health, such as the nutrition study program at FPH UI which is under the auspices of public health science.
Through this activity which will be held for 10 days, nutrition students from three different universities will not only gain knowledge in lectures but will also be able to directly observe public health practices, especially regarding nutrition science at Community Health Centers, Posyandu and Posbindu as well as experience local culture through tourism. to the Bogor Botanical Gardens, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Textile Museum, and taste various Indonesian culinary delights.
Through Nutrition UI Creates, it is hoped that students will gain a lot of new knowledge about the current situation and nutritional problems in Indonesia, and this will be useful for their future studies. (PUC)
