Closing 2023, the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia, will once again hold Posbindu, which is the implementation of the 4th Posbindu. Wednesday, 27 October 2023, Posbindu will be held in the Building G area of FPH UI with the main activities of screening weight, height, waist circumference, blood sugar during, uric acid, cholesterol, and doctor consultation. Apart from routine screening, a health talk was also held with the theme “Preventing, Managing and First Actions Against Stroke”, with resource person Dr. Celine Anindytha Pranata, Sp. N, DFIDN from RSU Bunda Margonda Depok.
“The university lowers an indicator regarding the number of staff who are happy and physically and mentally healthy. “Posbindu Griseta was formed by the faculty as an effort to measure the achievement of these indicators and carry out promotive and preventive efforts to detect and early control the presence of risk factors for Non-Communicable Diseases (PTM) in an integrated manner within the FPH UI extended family.” explained Dr. Milla Herdayanti, M.Si., Deputy Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Affairs, FPH UI in her opening speech at the health talk. The health talk was attended by screening participants consisting of dean structural staff, teaching staff, education staff, students, retired service members, and cleaning and security personnel.
“Stroke is not an incurable disease as has developed into a myth in society. By immediately going to the hospital, a diagnosis can be made immediately according to the type of stroke experienced and appropriate treatment can be carried out immediately. There are 2 causes of stroke, namely rupture of blood vessels and blockage of blood vessels. “For these two causes, different treatments will be carried out,” explained Dr. Celine opened the health talk session. More from Dr. Celine said that it is important for us to recognize the symptoms and signs of stroke so that early treatment can be carried out.
Symptoms and signs of stroke by the Ministry of Health are summarized in the SeGeRa Go to Hospital slogan, namely: Asymmetrical smile (turning to one side), choking, sudden difficulty swallowing drinking water; Movement of half of the body weakens suddenly; slurred speech/suddenly can’t speak/can’t understand words/speaks incoherently; Numbness or numbness, or tingling in half of the body; Myopia, blurred vision in one eye, occurs suddenly; Severe headaches that appear suddenly and have never been felt before, impaired balance function such as feeling spinning, movements that are difficult to coordinate (tremors/shaking, staggering); Another additional symptom is fainting
Dr. Celine also reminded that 90% of stroke cases can be prevented, of course by improving or eliminating controllable risk factors. Ways to prevent stroke can be done through: routine control of high blood pressure; exercise 5 times/week with a duration of 20-30 minutes/day; balanced and healthy food (more vegetables and fruit, less instant food; control cholesterol levels; maintain ideal body weight (maintain ideal Body Mass Index (BMI) range); stop smoking, avoid cigarette smoke/air pollution; identify and treat rhythm disorders heart; control diabetes; manage stress.
In the coming years, Posbindu is planned to continue to be carried out routinely with more capable data administration. “Posbindu FPHUI should ideally be more complete and include a fat content check; BMI and waist circumference; check eating and exercise behavior. “The screening results can be used as a database and, even better, an application to monitor progress every month,” said Dr. Ede Surya Darmawan (KPS Master of Hospital Administration Studies FPH UI) for the development of Posbindu Griseta in the coming year.
Good PTM control will certainly bring benefits to all parties in the faculty environment considering that the academic community and extended family of FPH UI are valuable assets that carry out the tri dharma of higher education at FPH UI.-sf-
