Public Health UI CREATES 2023 Welcomes 17 Singapore Institute University and University of Malaya students

Global health is about ensuring a healthy future for all people, wherever they live and placing a priority on improving health and achieving health equity for all people around the world. Disseminating the importance of health in people’s lives, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) opens opportunities for international students to study public health at UI through the Public Health UI Credit Earning Program for Students (UI CREATES). Held on October 1 – 14, this program will be held online in the first week, and offline at FPH UI in the second week

This Public Health UI CREATES is the first to be held at FPH UI. Opened by the Vice Dean for Education, Research and Student Affairs of FPH UI, Dr. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc., the event was also attended by the Manager of Cooperation, Alumni Relations, and Ventures, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, , Ph.D.; Head of the Bachelor of Public Health Study Program, Dr. Robiana Modjo, M.Kes., as well as representatives from the Singapore Institute of Technology, Prof. Intan Azura Mokhtar. “Through the Public Health UI CREATES program, participants will learn about public health in Indonesia and of course will learn about global health as well. In addition to academic learning, participants will also experience Indonesian culture and food. Hopefully you are all will gain new insights and experiences about Indonesia,” said Dr. Asih.

In addition, Dr. Asih also said that this year’s UI CREATES program participants came from Malaysia and Singapore, University of Malaya and Singapore Institute of Technology, with a total of 15 offline participants and 2 online participants. In this UI CREATES program, participants will get a series of learning including academic activities, lectures, assessments, reading and cultural events and networking sessions. Lectures will be guided by expert lecturers  including Prof. dra. Fatma Lestari, M.Si., Ph.D., Professor of Occupational Health and Safety and Prof. Dumilah Ayuningtyas, Professor of Health Administration and Policy

UI-CREATES is an academic mobility program specifically designed to facilitate undergraduate and postgraduate students from overseas partner universities to participate in short programs with academic credit at UI. The program is designed so that participants will benefit academically not only through classroom lectures, but also from exposure to relevant industry and other institutions. Participants also receive exposure to Indonesian culture through Indonesian language classes, cultural workshops and cultural trips.
