The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia collaborates with various health institutions such as universities, hospitals, and government institutions at local, national, and international levels.
In 2023, lecturers from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia held a community service program called “Innovation Efforts to Increase Nutritional Literacy, Health and Productivity of Adolescents in Banten Province Year 2023”. The community service program is held in collaboration with school teachers, school health unit, and student organizations to educate teenage girls and boys in Aweh Village about nutrition and health as an effort to increase their knowledge, attitudes, and behavior. The expected outcome of the event is to increase youth productivity and readiness for marriage, which is known to be of special concern to the local government.
FKM UI Ciptakan Nutrition Impact, Game Edukatif Cegah Stunting
1) In 2023, the Student Executive Board from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia held a community service program called “FKM UI Peduli” for the 19th time. The community service program involves all students from within the faculty, especially new students, as well as students from other faculties within the Universitas Indonesia. The program was held in Selawangi Village, Sukabumi Regency, focusing on providing efforts to handle Stunting risk factors by increasing awareness of elements of society regarding knowledge and skills regarding Stunting issues, as well as providing recommendations for handling Stunting risk factors.
2) The Student Association for Extension Students from the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia held a community service program called PROAKTIF (Fun and Interactive Health Promotion) targeted to elementary school students from Grade 1 to Grade 3, with objectives:
a) Educate students about Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (Clean and Healthy Living Behavior) by showing them how to properly wash their hands using soap, so the kids can practice and adapt the behavior in their daily activities,
b) Educate students about the importance of implementing the Clean and Healthy Living Behavior to prevent disease transmission,
c) Educate students about how to properly brush their teeth
3) Every first quarter of the year, the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia regularly held a Field Learning Practice program. Through this program, students were placed in remote areas to help the local community with health related problems and to find the solutions for the problems. In 2023, the program was held in villages within Bogor Regency with 58 participating students.
4) Rumah Belajar dan Kakak Asuh (RUJAK) is one of the work programs from the Department of Community Social of the faculty’s Student Executive Board. The objective of this program is to help overcome environmental education and health problems in the areas of Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. The theme for RUJAK 2023 is “Increasing Children’s and Youth’s Enthusiasm for Learning and Community Awareness in Solving Education and Environmental Health Problems”. Activities carried out throughout the program include sharing knowledge as well fostering motivation and enthusiasm for learning through role play activities. Apart from that, there are also activities in the form of Production Houses which aim to increase public awareness in dealing with environmental health problems and develop the independence and creativity of local residents in order to create a prosperous living environment in terms of education and environmental health.

The Faculty of Public Health has a shared sports facility which is the one in front of Building G. The sports facility can be used by anyone as long as they obeyed the terms and conditions when loaning the facility. It is free of charge and there is no time duration as to how long people can loan the facility.
The Faculty of Public Health provide students with access to sexual and reproductive health-care services, including information and education services. Within the Faculty of Public Health, there’s a student association called the PIK-R Rumah Panda (Youth Information and Counseling Center, Student Forum Concerned with Reproductive Health). One of the activities organized by PIK-R Rumah Panda is called Peer Education. The purpose of the activity is to gain basic knowledge about reproductive health and gender which later will be useful for the PIK-R Rumah Panda community in conducting advocacy, counseling, and counseling to the community or the intended target.

At the introduction of the faculty’s academic system for new undergraduate and postgraduate students, the Faculty of Public Health provided a session on topics related to mental health issues. The speaker for this session was the Counselor Team from the Makara Universitas Indonesia satellite clinic which specifically handles mental health problems for students. Apart from that, the Department of Student Advocacy and Welfare (Adkesma) also has a routine agenda related to mental health issues:
1) Publication in the form of mental health educational content on Instagram @adekesma.bemfkmui every week
2) Conduct peer counselor training at the Makara Universitas Indonesia satellite clinic in May 2023. It is hoped that these peer counselors will become ‘active agents’ to promote issues related to student mental health. These peer counselors also facilitate students to tell stories via LINE CURMA and/or via the Instagram account @adkesma.bemfkmui (peer counselor): bit.ly/curmainaja.
For students who need further treatment and need help with drug therapy to treat their mental health, they can be referred to a psychiatrist at the university’s hospital on the recommendation of a psychologist at the Makara Universitas Indonesia satellite clinic.
Aside from the free program, Universitas Indonesia also provides paid access for students who want to do direct counseling at the Institute of Applied Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Indonesia.
The Universitas Indonesia has a policy called Kawasan Tanpa Rokok (Non-Smoking Area) approved by the University’s Rector in 2011 through Keputusan Rektor Universitas Indonesia Nomor 1805/SK/R/UI/2011 tentang Kawasan Tanpa Rokok Universitas Indonesia (Decree of the Rector of the Universitas Indonesia Number 1805/SK/R/UI/2011 concerning the Non-Smoking Area of the Universitas Indonesia). Through the decree, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia emphasizes the background, purpose, and target of the decree clearly. The decree also mentioned the provision of smoking areas as well as supervision of the decree’s implementation in all faculty of Universitas Indonesia including the Faculty of Public Health.

The Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia through its Facility Maintenance team promotes mental health which is sent to all staff through WhatsApp. Apart from that, the faculty also held a mental health webinar on the occasion of its anniversary which featured Psychiatrists at the Psychiatrist Hospital Dr. H. Marzoeki Mahdi Bogor as one of the spokeperson.
