One of the departments under the Student Executive Board (BEM) is Adkesma (Student Advocacy and Welfare Department), which organizes an annual program called “Dialog Interaktif (Log-In).” This program serves as a platform for students to express their aspirations, complaints, and suggestions to the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) leadership regarding issues related to facilities, finances, and academics throughout their studies.
Log-In operates in two directions: vertical and horizontal.
The vertical movement is carried out through advocacy processes directed toward the FKM leadership. Meanwhile, the horizontal movement involves gathering aspirations, complaints, and questions from FKM UI students prior to the Log-In event. After the event, the Adkesma Department issues a press release published through the official Instagram account of BEM FKM UI as a form of accountability.
As a form of support among fellow students, the Student Advocacy and Welfare Department (Adkesma) has a program called “CURMA (Curhat Bareng Adkesma),” which primarily serves to facilitate peer counseling sessions for students experiencing mental health issues that may indirectly affect their academic performance. Before becoming peer counselors, participating students receive training from psychologists at the Makara Satellite Clinic of Universitas Indonesia.
Besides CURMA, Adkesma conducts an annual collection of student aspirations from both undergraduate and postgraduate levels through questionnaires. These surveys cover academic, financial, and facility-related matters to identify the challenges faced by students in these areas. The findings are then presented to the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health during the “Dialog Interaktif (Log-In)” forum.
