Fifty-eight (58) years the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) has served the country. In its journey, various developments continued to occur until it finally became what it is today. To commemorate the birth of FPH UI and strengthen synergistic collaboration, a routine celebration is held every year which this year is held on Tuesday, 18 July 2023.
The event which was held in the Hall of Building A of FPH UI was attended by FPH UI leaders and extended family. In addition, the Deputy Dean 1 of the UI Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yanuar, M.Eng., M.Sc.; Deputy Deans 1 and 2 of the Faculty of Science and Culture UI, Dr. Luckily Yuwono and Dr. Taufik Asmiyanto, M.Sc.; Deputy Dean 1 of the UI Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Nurul Isnaeni, Ph.D.; as well as Deputy Dean 2 of the UI Faculty of Law, Endah Hartati, S.H., M.H.
With the theme “Strengthening Synergistic Collaboration in the Development of National and International Public Health Sciences and Services”, FPH UI aspires and is committed to continuing to collaborate to improve public health status globally. “What we mean by synergism here is in the sense that all parties collaborate, move forward together, strengthen each other. Not only individuals but also everyone. We will all continue to actively participate from the local, national, and global levels,” said Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., in his speech. There are 6 (six) values brought to this anniversary, namely togetherness, solidarity, a sense of struggle, one boat traveling together, a spirit of sacrifice, and a collective awareness based on affection.
As concrete evidence towards this big goal, FPH UI itself has signed 57 tridharma agreements and 13 cooperation notes with foreign universities in a period of 1.5 years. This achievement of course does not stop there, FPH UI is committed to continuing to participate actively at the local, national, and global levels.
At this anniversary event, Dr. Adang Bachtiar, M.P.H., D.Sc., was present to give a scientific oration related to strengthening equality and equity so that the participants present were able to design the best public health efforts.“These two concepts, equality and equity, actually talk about the same thing, namely Fairness and Eveness. However, both concepts see humans/community groups as subjects in health development. We cannot see equity as something passive, but there must be active efforts to achieve an inclusive health system,” said dr. Adang. In the series of the 58th Anniversary of FPH UI which will be held in the next few months, there are various programs that have been planned together with the aim of strengthening and warming friendship in the big house of FPH UI which has been built together in harmony based on love and kinship.
This anniversary was made special by the presence of the FPH UI Security Team to guide the singing of the FPH UI Mars. Throughout the event, great talents from students, education staff, even the band The Chandra and Friends, whose members consisted of professors and FPH UI lecturers, were also presented.
The hope is that the 58th Anniversary of FPH UI can become a catalyst to strengthen the collaborative joints so that it becomes a large and bestari FPH UI. (BK)
