Sharing Good Practices, FPH UI Again Receives Study Visit from Hasanuddin University Postgraduate School

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again hosted a study visit in the context of developing the Integrity Zone towards a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Area (WBBM) from the Graduate School of Hasanuddin University Makassar. The purpose of this visit was to benchmark the management of Integrity Zone development.

The visit took place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, and was attended by 9 members of the Integrity Zone team from the Graduate School of Unhas, led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Sudirman Baco, M.Sc., Head of GPM-PR/Manager of the Public Service Quality Improvement Area.

The visit was welcomed by Dr. Milla Herdayati, Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration; Nelasari, M.K.M., Faculty Secretary; and representatives of each of the FPH UI Integrity Zone team’s key drivers. “Through this visit that FPH UI is hosting, we are not only sharing good practices, but also reviewing our own preparations towards becoming the Integrity Zone – Clean and Serving Bureaucracy Area (WBBM),” Dr. Milla said in her welcoming speech.

FPH UI not only shared insights into the process of developing the Integrity Zone but also the behind-the-scenes efforts in its development. Dr. Milla shared the faculty’s efforts to align perceptions, starting with roadshows to all departments for socialization and internalization. Internalization among the educational staff was also carried out through plenary meetings. Students, as the primary stakeholders, were also facilitated with interactive discussion forums with the faculty. The selection of the integrity zone team was made according to their respective areas of responsibility so that the tasks related to Integrity Zone development became inherent in their daily duties. FPH UI also organizes an annual selection of Dedicated Educational Staff, in which the selection process evaluates their understanding and implementation of the 9 UI Values.

As conveyed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Sudirman Baco, M.Sc., Head of GPM-PR/Manager of the Public Service Quality Improvement Area at the Graduate School of Unhas, the Graduate School has 17 study programs with around 1300 students. “Since 2021, the Graduate School has been implementing the Integrity Zone, but for the entire faculty, it has only been the past two years, and it is now mandatory for all faculties led by the Secretary of Hasanuddin University. There are still many aspects that are not well understood, such as what exactly needs to be changed, so we hope that after this visit, the Graduate School of Unhas will be more enlightened,” said Prof. Sudirman in his speech.

The discussion was going casually, covering various topics related to performance accountability, the provision and management of complaint facilities, behavioral guidelines outlined in the handbook, and visits to the infrastructure and Faculty Service Units. (sf)
