On June 27-28, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) participated in The 1st UI Health Innovation Expo 2024, held at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Depok Campus. As one of the faculties within the health sciences cluster, FPH UI showcased various innovations and research initiatives it has undertaken.
The 1st UI Health Innovation Expo is an exhibition of UI’s research and innovations in the health sector, organized by the UI Directorate of Cooperation in collaboration with the Directorate of Innovation and Science Techno Park (DISTP) and the faculties from the health sciences cluster at UI. The event aims to promote innovation outcomes and raise public awareness of the importance of health research. Additionally, it seeks to foster networking and collaboration between UI and industry partners in pharmaceuticals, hospitals, medical devices, laboratory tools, and government sectors.
At the exhibition, which was attended by the Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD., Ph.D., FPH UI presented one of the faculty’s innovations, the Stunting Resource Center (SRC). The SRC at FPH UI is a concrete example of academic contributions through synergistic collaboration with the business world to actively engage in efforts to prevent and address nutritional problems in Indonesia, particularly the issue of stunting, which is currently a national development focus. In its early establishment, the SRC focused on training healthcare workers, empowering cadres, and developing community-based stunting prevention programs, supported by PT Bayan Resources Tbk. and PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk.
In addition to the health innovations on display, The 1st UI Health Innovation Expo 2024 also featured speakers from academia, researchers, industry practitioners, and community leaders who provided health education.
