On Sunday, August 25, 2024, the Universitas Indonesia (UI) held its graduation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic year’s second semester at the Balairung UI in Depok. This event was highly anticipated by the graduates of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) UI, both from the undergraduate and graduate programs. More than 9,000 graduates attended the ceremony, which was divided into four different sessions. This graduation ceremony also served as a welcome for the new students of the 2024/2025 academic year.
The ceremony was officially opened by the Rector of UI, Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. In his speech, the Rector highlighted several achievements made by UI throughout 2024. He also pointed out that UI’s recognition on the international stage had increased, with its ranking rising to 206 in the QS World Rankings, up from its previous ranking of 237. Prof. Ari also shared a message with the graduates, urging them to continue making UI proud in the increasingly competitive job market. “Always embody the qualities of a UI graduate, both in knowledge and character. Be the pride of UI through your contributions to science and serve as role models for your juniors,” said Prof. Ari. This graduation ceremony was not just a moment of celebration but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the graduates. “Today is certainly a much-awaited moment and the start of a new chapter in life. I hope you will continue to make us proud after leaving the UI campus,” Prof. Ari concluded.
