During the meeting, PLN Icon Plus— a sub-holding of PT PLN (Persero) in the Telecommunications, ICT, and Green Solutions sectors—outlined several leading initiatives that could be implemented at FPH UI. These include a PV Rooftop installation program as a green energy solution based on solar power, the development of EV Charging Stations for electric vehicles, and the provision of two- and four-wheeled electric vehicles (EVs) to support sustainable mobility. These steps align with FPH UI’s vision to create an environmentally friendly campus while supporting community health by reducing pollution and emissions.

In the meeting, FPH UI and PLN Icon Plus also discussed several follow-up actions to be implemented soon, including the Certified Internship Program as part of the Merdeka Campus (MBKM) initiative, which will provide students with direct experience at PLN Icon Plus offices. This collaboration also includes the development of industry-linked classes equipped with fiber optic laboratories and educational materials aligned with industry needs, as well as project-based training and certification. Additionally, FPH UI will be supported by PLN Icon Plus through backup servers for FPH’s systems and databases to strengthen the campus’s digital infrastructure.

FPH UI’s Education Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., expressed enthusiasm regarding the collaboration. “We are very excited about this partnership, which not only supports the achievement of FPH UI’s green metric but also opens opportunities for students to gain direct experience in the renewable energy and digital technology industries. This is an important part of our commitment to future-oriented education,” said Dr. Laila. She also emphasized the importance of the Certified Internship Program as part of this collaboration.

In line with this, the Manager for Cooperation, Alumni, and Ventures at FPH UI, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D., highlighted the benefits of this cross-sector collaboration in supporting the well-being of the campus community. “This joint initiative aligns with FPH UI’s vision to create a campus that is not only environmentally friendly but also strengthens cross-sector collaboration in supporting the overall well-being of the campus community,” she said.

The sustainability of these programs will be made possible through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between UI and PLN Icon Plus, which will serve as the official foundation for joint activities starting in 2025. This collaboration is expected to create a mutually beneficial ecosystem. PLN Icon Plus has expressed appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with FPH UI and has committed to promoting the results of this collaboration through internal media and UI’s media channels. This partnership is expected to contribute positively to building an academic culture based on sustainability and environmental health.

Through the strategic collaboration between FPH UI and PLN Icon Plus, various innovations are expected to emerge that support energy sustainability and the development of environmentally friendly technology on campus. With a focus on the health of the campus community and reducing environmental impact, this partnership will not only strengthen digital infrastructure and green practices at FPH UI but also open opportunities for learning and competency development for students. This initiative is a testament to FPH UI’s commitment to creating an environmentally conscious campus that actively contributes to the sustainable achievement of green metric targets. (DFD)
