The Rector of UI, Prof. Heri Hermansyah Guarantees Students Can Attend Lectures Without Financial Constraints

The Rector of the Universitas Indonesia (UI), Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., assures that every student admitted to UI, especially in the regular programs, will not face obstacles in continuing their education due to financial issues. He stated that the determination of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for the Regular Bachelor’s Program and Vocational Education Program is adjusted based on the socio-economic background of the parents/guardians who are responsible for the student’s education costs.

“For regular students, we must ensure that their UKT is in line with their ability and is fair,” said Prof. Heri after being officially inaugurated as the Rector of UI for the 2024-2029 period at the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, UI Depok Campus, on Wednesday (December 4).

He added that various mechanisms have been developed by UI to address this. UI has implemented a policy of determining UKT amounts fairly, based on data and an evaluation of the ability to pay of the guardians. To this end, UI has divided the UKT determination into 11 categories, ranging from the lowest fee of IDR 500,000 to the highest reaching IDR 20,000,000.

Furthermore, Prof. Heri stated that in addition to the fair UKT determination, UI will also find scholarships for students in need to help them survive while pursuing their education at UI. “If there are regular class students at UI who cannot afford the tuition, please let us know immediately. If anyone is overlooked,” Prof. Heri added.

Information regarding the UKT fees for students in the 2024 cohort of the Bachelor’s Program and Vocational Education Program at UI, whether admitted through the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP), National Selection Based on Test (SNBT), or Independent Selection (PPKB, Achievement Path, SIMAK), can be found on the UKT UI website: ukt.ui.ac.id.
