Posbindu (Integrated Community Health Post) plays a crucial role in the prevention of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) by providing routine health check-ups such as blood pressure measurements, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid levels. Early detection of risk factors for NCDs allows for quick intervention to prevent the disease from worsening. In addition, Posbindu also functions as an educational platform to raise public awareness about healthy lifestyles, diet, and the importance of physical activity.
The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI), as a faculty within the health sciences dedicated to the prevention of NCDs among all its members and their families, also conducts regular Posbindu activities every two months. On December 20, 2024, FPH UI held the GRISETA (Griya Sehat Kita) Posbindu event for all academic staff and the FPH UI family. The event was held in the Lobby A of FPH UI as part of efforts to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining health amidst the busy academic and work activities.
This Posbindu event provided an opportunity for all participants to receive a mini medical check-up, including basic health examinations such as blood pressure measurements, blood sugar tests, uric acid, and cholesterol checks. These tests are aimed at the early detection of potential health issues that may affect quality of life. The mini medical check-up was conducted in collaboration with Mitra Keluarga Depok Hospital and supported by Indofood.
In addition, the event also offered health consultations with competent medical personnel, providing participants with the chance to consult directly about their health conditions and receive relevant advice.
A key part of the event was the Health Talk with the theme “JKN: Procedures for Utilization and Rights/Obligations in Health Services,” delivered by Dr. Pujiyanto, S.K.M., M.Kes., a Lecturer in the Department of Health Administration and Policy at FPH UI. This theme was chosen to provide a deeper understanding of the National Health Insurance (JKN) program, which is currently one of the main programs in Indonesia’s health system.
During this session, participants were encouraged to better understand how to utilize JKN, the rights of participants in accessing health services, the obligations that participants must fulfill to maximize the benefits of this program, and the responsibilities of health facilities in treating JKN patients, even in emergency situations. “In case of an emergency, healthcare facilities are required to provide emergency services not only at JKN service provider facilities but also at any healthcare facility, even those not affiliated with JKN. Once the patient’s condition improves, they will be transferred to a healthcare facility partnered with JKN, in this case, BPJS Health,” said Dr. Pujiyanto.
This Posbindu event was not only held as a form of attention to individual health but also as a concrete step by FPH UI to support the improvement of health among its academic staff and the broader FPH UI community. It is hoped that this event can serve as a momentum to foster a better culture of healthy living within the campus environment. Posbindu also stands as FPH UI’s commitment to continuously educate and provide services that benefit its community, encouraging them to maintain their health in the right and responsible ways. (wrk)
