Sharing Bachelor’s Program Information, FPH UI Receives Visit from SMA Negeri 114 Jakarta

The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) received a visit from students of SMA Negeri 114 Jakarta on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. This event aimed to introduce FPH UI more comprehensively and provide insights into study opportunities in the field of public health.

Welcomed in the Doctoral Promotion Room, the visit was received by the Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Study Program at FPH UI, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si.; and Lecturer from the Occupational Health and Safety Department at FPH UI, Stevan Anbiya, Ph.D.

The Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, presented an overview of FPH UI. “FPH UI is a higher education institution focused on developing public health sciences with various outstanding academic programs. FPH UI has a mission to produce competent public health professionals capable of addressing global health challenges,” said Dr. Laila. “FPH UI offers 10 study programs, including four undergraduate programs, four master’s programs, and two doctoral programs,” she continued.

Additionally, during the presentation session, a detailed explanation was provided about the four undergraduate programs offered by FPH UI, namely:

  1. Bachelor of Public Health Program. This program focuses on various aspects of public health, including health promotion, epidemiology, environmental health, and health policy. Graduates of this program are expected to design and implement evidence-based health programs.

  2. Bachelor of Nutrition Program. This study program delves into nutrition science and its role in individual and community health. Students will study various aspects of clinical nutrition, community nutrition, and food service, as well as nutrition management and policy to improve public health status.

  3. Bachelor of Environmental Health Program. This program discusses the relationship between the environment and human health, including environmental pollution, waste management, and environmental policies that impact public health. Graduates are expected to provide solutions to environmental problems affecting public health.

  4. Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program. The OHS study program focuses on preventing workplace accidents and occupational diseases through risk identification, safety standards implementation, and worker health management. Graduates of this program are highly sought after in various industrial and governmental sectors.

The students of SMA Negeri 114 Jakarta were highly enthusiastic about participating in this activity. They actively asked questions regarding career prospects for FPH UI graduates, curriculum, scholarships, internships, as well as tips and tricks for selecting the right admission path. This visit is expected to provide broader insights to students in determining their future study choices.

Through hosting high school student visits, FPH UI continues to strive to introduce public health to prospective students and encourage their interest in contributing to improving health quality in Indonesia. (wrk)
