On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed a visit from students of SMA Negeri 61 Jakarta and Jakarta Islamic School. A total of 108 participants were received by FPH UI’s Education Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M.; Head of the Undergraduate Nutrition Program, Dr. Fathimah S. Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D.; Head of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Program, Dr. Ema Hermawati, S.K.M., M.Si.; and Head of the Undergraduate Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc.

Held in the Doctoral Promotion Room at FPH UI, the event aimed to introduce students to the various undergraduate programs at FPH UI, the learning curriculum, new student admission processes, teaching methods, tuition fees, and career prospects for FPH UI graduates. Additionally, this visit provided an opportunity for students to engage in direct discussions with FPH UI faculty members to gain a deeper understanding of university life.

FPH UI offers four undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Public Health, Bachelor of Nutrition, Bachelor of Environmental Health, and Bachelor of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). All four undergraduate programs at FPH UI have received excellent accreditation from LAMPT-Kes, with two programs—Bachelor of Nutrition and Bachelor of Public Health—having achieved international accreditation.

In her welcome speech, FPH UI’s Education Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., emphasized that public health is a crucial field in improving the overall quality of life in society. “Through this event, we aim to provide students with a clear understanding of the vital role of public health professionals and how FPH UI equips its students with relevant knowledge and skills,” said Dr. Laila. The visit also included presentations on FPH UI’s undergraduate programs, including the specializations students can choose.

The visiting students showed great enthusiasm throughout the event, asking numerous questions to the speakers. Their inquiries covered not only the curriculum but also scholarship opportunities, student exchange programs, and career prospects abroad for FPH UI graduates.

Through this outreach initiative, FPH UI hopes to attract more prospective students who are passionate about public health and aspire to contribute to improving health standards in Indonesia. (wrk)
