Depok, October 13, 2025 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at Universitas Indonesia (UI) reaffirmed its commitment to expanding public health literacy among students by welcoming visits from SMA Negeri 1 Solok and SMA Negeri 2 Kediri on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Doctoral Promotion Room, FPH UI, Depok Campus. The visit provided students with the opportunity to gain a closer understanding of higher education in public health and FPH UI’s strategic role in developing skilled human resources in the health sector.
The visit was officially received by FPH UI’s Education Manager, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., along with Abdul Kadir, M.Sc., Head of the Bachelor’s Program in Occupational Safety and Health (K3). In her welcome remarks, Dr. Laila expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm of students and teachers in learning about FPH UI as one of the leading faculties at Universitas Indonesia. She also provided an overview of the faculty’s profile, areas of study, and career opportunities for FPH UI graduates at both national and international levels.
Dr. Laila explained that FPH UI aims to be a leading faculty in the development of public health knowledge that positively impacts community welfare. “Through visits like this, we aim to broaden students’ understanding of the importance of public health in daily life and how they can contribute in the future through various public health professions,” she said.
Meanwhile, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc., offered a more detailed introduction to the Bachelor’s Program in Occupational Safety and Health (K3), one of FPH UI’s flagship programs. He explained the scope of the K3 field, career prospects, and the strategic role of graduates in creating safe, healthy, and productive work environments. “The K3 field does not only focus on workplace safety in industry but also makes a broad contribution to improving public health across various sectors,” he emphasized.
In addition to presentations, the visit included an interactive Q&A session, which showcased the students’ strong enthusiasm for learning about university life and careers in public health. Students actively sought information regarding admission pathways, academic and student activities, scholarships, and various personal development opportunities at FPH UI.
Through this visit, FPH UI not only introduced its academic environment and study programs but also instilled leadership spirit and awareness of public health from an early age. The visit is expected to inspire students to pursue education in public health and become agents of change in building a healthier and more prosperous society. (wrk)
