FPH UI Welcomes a Visit from SMA Negeri 2 Solok to Introduce Public Health Education

Depok, 20 November 2025 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again became a destination for educational visits from high schools seeking to introduce their students to the field of public health. On Thursday (20/11), FPH UI welcomed a visit from SMA Negeri 2 Solok in the Professors’ Room of FPH UI. This activity reflects FPH UI’s commitment to expanding the dissemination of educational information and providing young learners with insights into study and career opportunities in public health.

The visit was received directly by the Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the profile of FPH UI, its academic structure, faculty strengths, and the admissions pathways to Universitas Indonesia. Dr. Laila explained that FPH UI is one of the leading faculties in Indonesia in the field of public health education, with a strong commitment to advancing knowledge, research, and community engagement.

In her presentation, Dr. Laila highlighted FPH UI’s continuous efforts to maintain educational quality and reputation through innovative learning, collaborations, and impactful research contributions.
“We are very pleased to welcome students from SMA Negeri 2 Solok. We hope this visit broadens their understanding of the wide-ranging career opportunities in public health and inspires them to pursue higher education at FPH UI,” said Dr. Laila.

Dr. Laila also emphasized that FPH UI offers four undergraduate study programs: the Bachelor’s Program in Public Health, the Bachelor’s Program in Nutrition, the Bachelor’s Program in Environmental Health, and the Bachelor’s Program in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH). These programs are designed to meet the demand for competent, adaptive public health professionals capable of responding to evolving health challenges in society.

Additionally, she introduced the various admission pathways to Universitas Indonesia, both through national selection routes and UI’s independent admission schemes. She encouraged students to begin preparing early and to consider FPH UI as one of their top choices for higher education.

Students from SMA Negeri 2 Solok showed great enthusiasm, asking a variety of questions about the curriculum, learning experiences, career prospects, and student activities at FPH UI.

Through this visit, FPH UI hopes to inspire more students to explore the field of public health and contribute to efforts to improve the nation’s health quality. (wrk)
