Depok, 10 December 2025 — As part of its ongoing efforts to expand the reach of public education and introduce public health study programs to younger generations, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Universitas Indonesia (UI) welcomed an educational visit from 36 students of SMA Negeri 77 Jakarta. Held at the FPH UI Doctoral Promotion Room, the visit reflected the faculty’s commitment to providing high-quality information on higher education while broadening prospective students’ understanding of public health as a field of study.
The visit was received by the Education Manager of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., who opened the event with a warm and appreciative welcome. In her remarks, Dr. Laila emphasized that public health is a highly strategic discipline with a direct role in improving the quality of life of communities. “We are very pleased to welcome the students of SMA Negeri 77 Jakarta to FPH UI. Visits like this provide an important opportunity to introduce how public health works to advance the nation’s well-being. We hope the students can see that contributions in this field are broad and impactful,” said Dr. Laila.
Following her opening remarks, Dr. Laila delivered a comprehensive presentation on FPH UI, covering an overview of academic programs—particularly undergraduate programs—as well as information on student admission pathways such as SNBP, SNBT, PPKB, and SIMAK UI. She also explained tuition schemes, scholarship support, curriculum structure, and learning facilities designed to provide students with a holistic academic experience.
In her presentation, Dr. Laila further highlighted that the learning process at FPH UI emphasizes a balance between theory, field practice, research, and community engagement. “FPH UI students do not only study in classrooms; they also engage directly with communities, hospitals, and various related institutions. This approach ensures that they understand real public health challenges and are prepared to offer solutions,” she explained. Dr. Laila also underlined the wide range of career opportunities available to FPH UI graduates, spanning government and private sectors, international organizations, industry, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship in health.
The students participated enthusiastically throughout the session and actively engaged in discussions about university life, career prospects, and key preparations for entering higher education. This interaction reflected the students’ strong interest in understanding the field of public health and their potential roles in the future.
Through school visit activities such as this, FPH UI continues to strengthen its position as an educational institution that not only excels academically but also contributes to improving public health literacy among younger generations. FPH UI hopes that this visit will inspire students to pursue studies in health-related fields and to contribute to the creation of a healthier, more equitable, and sustainable society. (wrk)
