UI Socializes Supplementary Health Insurance for FPH UI Faculty Members and Administrative Staff

Depok, 30 December 2025 — Universitas Indonesia (UI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing the well-being of its academic community. One such effort was realized through an Online Socialization Session on Health Insurance provided by Asuransi Mega, aimed at UI faculty members and administrative staff.

The session was conducted online and sought to provide comprehensive information on the benefits, coverage, and utilization mechanisms of health insurance as part of UI’s efforts to strengthen health protection for the entire UI community.

The session was opened by the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and Resources, Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.U.P., Ph.D. In his remarks, the Vice Rector emphasized the importance of continuing to utilize the primary health insurance scheme, BPJS Kesehatan, alongside the supplementary health insurance benefits that will take effect starting January 2026. He also added that members of the UI community will have easier access to health services at Makara Clinic and Universitas Indonesia Hospital (RSUI).

During the session, it was highlighted that health insurance is not merely an additional benefit, but a crucial form of protective investment for employees and their families. Health risks can arise unexpectedly, and having insurance coverage helps reduce the financial burden associated with medical expenses, hospitalization, and further medical treatments.

A representative of Asuransi Mega, Agustin Fitrianti, explained the key benefits available to participants, including:

  • Broader and more reliable access to health care services

  • Coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical expenses

  • Simplified claims processes and access to a wide network of partner hospitals

  • A greater sense of security and peace of mind in daily work activities

UI views healthy employees as the foundation of a productive and sustainable institution. With adequate health insurance protection in place, faculty members and administrative staff are expected to work with greater focus, comfort, and effectiveness, without excessive concern over health-related risks.

In addition, the socialization session served as an interactive forum, allowing participants to directly inquire about policy provisions, additional enrollment options, claims procedures, special benefits, and ways to optimize the use of insurance services according to their individual needs.

Through this initiative, Universitas Indonesia reaffirms its commitment to continuously providing programs that support the welfare, safety, and quality of life of faculty members and administrative staff. Health insurance is expected to serve as a key pillar in fostering a healthy, safe, and competitive working environment.

Moving forward, UI will continue to promote health and financial literacy among its academic community as part of its efforts to develop excellent and sustainable human resources. (sf)
