Depok, 19 January 2026 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH), Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again reaffirmed its role as a national reference in public health education by welcoming an educational visit from SMA Al Azhar 15 Semarang and SMAN 7 Padang on Monday (19/1). This activity forms part of FPH UI’s commitment to expanding higher education literacy and introducing the excellence of public health sciences to prospective students from an early stage.
The visit, held at the FPH UI Doctoral Program Promotion Room, was attended by students accompanied by their teachers. Participants received a comprehensive overview of the academic system, the range of study programs, and opportunities for personal and professional development at FPH UI.
The Manager for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Internationalization, and Alumni of FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., emphasized the importance of preparing young generations to face increasingly complex public health challenges.
“FPH UI does not focus solely on academic achievement, but also on shaping graduates with social awareness, leadership skills, and a global perspective. We aim for our students to grow into agents of change in the field of public health,” she stated.
From the perspective of nutrition science, the Head of the Undergraduate Nutrition Program at FPH UI, dr. Fathimah S. Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D., explained that public health nutrition education plays a strategic role in human development. “Nutrition issues are not only related to individuals, but also to policies and systems. At FPH UI, we equip students with scientific and contextual approaches so they can make tangible contributions to improving community nutritional status,” she explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Undergraduate Occupational Safety and Health (OSH/K3) Program, Abdul Kadir, M.Sc., highlighted the growing relevance of the OSH field in today’s world of work. “Occupational safety and health is a long-term investment in national productivity. FPH UI OSH graduates are prepared to meet the needs of industry, government, and society in a professional manner,” he noted.
From the field of environmental health, the Secretary of the Undergraduate Environmental Health Program, Dr. Al Asyary, S.K.M., M.P.H., stressed that environmental health challenges increasingly require a multidisciplinary approach. “Environmental problems have a direct impact on public health. Through education at FPH UI, we encourage students to think critically and develop solutions to address sustainable environmental issues,” he remarked.
Echoing this view, the Secretary of the Undergraduate Public Health Program, Dr. Eng. Stevan Deby Anbiya, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., emphasized the broad scope of public health as a discipline. “Public health is a highly dynamic field, ranging from health promotion to health policy and systems. We hope students can see that public health graduates play strategic roles across various development sectors,” he said.
The session was conducted interactively through discussions and a question-and-answer segment. Students showed strong enthusiasm in exploring information on Universitas Indonesia’s admission pathways, campus life, and the career prospects of FPH UI graduates.
Through this visit, FPH UI continues to strengthen educational networks, inspire young generations, and deliver inclusive and impactful higher education.
