FPH UI Welcomes Educational Visit from 160 Students of SMA Negeri 1 Glagah Banyuwangi

Depok, February 3, 2026 — Affirming its role as an epicenter of public health education in Indonesia, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) warmly welcomed 160 students from SMAN 1 Glagah, Banyuwangi. The session, held in the Doctoral Promotion Room, became an important opportunity for students to explore higher education pathways while gaining deeper insight into the strategic contributions of public health at the national level.

The visit was received by the Manager of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Alumni, and Internationalization at FPH UI, Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., together with the Secretary of the Undergraduate Public Health Program, Dr. Eng. Stevan Deby Anbiya Muhammad Sunarno, S.K.M., M.K.K.K. This activity reflects FPH UI’s commitment to providing broad access to information for prospective students from across Indonesia.

In her presentation, Dr. Laila Fitria introduced the profile of FPH UI as a faculty with a long-standing contribution to the development of public health science and practice at both national and international levels. She outlined the range of study programs, admission pathways to Universitas Indonesia, and the academic system implemented at FPH UI.

“FPH UI not only prepares graduates who excel academically, but also individuals with integrity who are ready to make meaningful contributions to public health. We offer various admission pathways, transparent tuition schemes, well-defined intake capacity, and strong support through learning facilities and laboratories,” she explained.

Dr. Laila also highlighted various scholarship opportunities available to students, both from within UI and external partners, as part of FPH UI’s commitment to ensuring inclusive and equitable access to higher education.

Meanwhile, Dr. Eng. Stevan Deby Anbiya Muhammad Sunarno presented the Undergraduate Public Health Program in detail, covering its curriculum, graduate competencies, and career prospects. He emphasized that graduates of the program have wide-ranging career opportunities across multiple sectors.

“The Undergraduate Public Health Program at FPH UI is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge ranging from promotive and preventive approaches to health policy. Our graduates work in government institutions, international organizations, the health industry, and also pursue further studies,” he stated.

Students from SMAN 1 Glagah Banyuwangi showed great enthusiasm throughout the presentation and discussion sessions, which also included an interactive Q&A on student life, academic systems, and further study opportunities at FPH UI.

Through this activity, FPH UI hopes to inspire the younger generation to explore the field of public health more closely and encourage the emergence of future public health leaders from across Indonesia. (wrk)
