Depok, September 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI), through the Research and Community Engagement Unit (URPM), held the 2025 Research Group/Laboratory Grant Management Workshop in the RIK PA212 Meeting Room. This event served as a strategic step to strengthen FPH UI’s research ecosystem while supporting Universitas Indonesia’s academic transformation toward greater excellence and impact.
The workshop was attended by UI’s Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Hamdi Muluk, M.Si.; Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir. Asih Setiarini, M.Sc.; FPH UI’s Manager of Research and Community Engagement, Prof. Doni Hikmat Ramdan, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; as well as professors, lecturers, and laboratory staff from across FPH UI.
In her opening remarks, Prof. Mondastri emphasized the importance of developing research clusters as platforms to enhance the competence and expertise of the academic community. She highlighted that this initiative ensures inclusive growth for all members. “No one left behind — everyone must grow and contribute. At FPH UI, we already have active departments and research centers, and today we are receiving guidance on how to prepare proposals for developing research clusters to access the grants provided by UI,” he stated.
Echoing this, Prof. Hamdi Muluk explained that the research grant scheme introduced by UI is not merely a form of financial support but also part of a broader transformation in research culture. Under the tagline no one left behind, UI encourages every department and laboratory to grow, evolve, and strengthen their research capacity. He emphasized that UI’s 2025–2029 roadmap positions the university as an agent of economic development, supported by a strategy grounded in the principles of structure – culture – behavior. Each faculty member is encouraged to join a research group as part of a culture-based research community, with laboratories redefined not just as physical spaces but as academic epistemic environments that foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
Concluding the event, Prof. Doni Hikmat Ramdan delivered a technical presentation on research group and laboratory management guidelines. He underscored the importance of administrative readiness, governance, and capacity building to optimize opportunities for grant acquisition.
This workshop marked an important milestone for FPH UI in expanding its contribution to impactful public health research, in line with UI’s vision to cultivate world-class researchers who are globally competitive and play a vital role in national development. (wrk)
