Three faculty members from the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) at the Universitas Indonesia (UI) have been appointed to the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) based on Presidential Decree No. 64/M of 2024. The three faculty members are Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dr. Dra. Rita Damayanti, MSPH; and Prof. Dr. Ede Surya Darmawan, S.K.M., M.D.M.
Dr. Agustin Kusumayati, Ph.D., has been selected as a member of the Leadership of the Medical Council representing the Government. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ede Surya Darmawan, S.K.M., M.D.M., has joined the Public Health Collegium, and Dr. Dra. Rita Damayanti, MSPH, has joined the Health Promotion Collegium. The inauguration ceremony was held by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, CHFC., CLU., on Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Siwabessy Hall, Sujudi Building, Ministry of Health, Jakarta.
The three of them were sworn in along with 108 leaders and members of the Indonesian Medical Council, the Health Collegium, and the Professional Disciplinary Assembly. Their term of service began in 2024 and will end in 2028.
As quoted from the Sehat Negeriku website of the Ministry of Health, during the inauguration, the Minister of Health invited and looked forward to the contributions of the three official bodies in creating a qualified and equitable healthcare workforce, so that healthcare services provided to the public can be maximized. “The three of them must work together so that we can provide healthcare services that are easy to access, of good quality, and affordable for all Indonesians,” said the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, CHFC., CLU.
Prof. Dr. Ede Surya Darmawan, S.K.M., M.D.M., expressed in his statement, “This is a heavy mandate to encourage the emergence of competent and highly dedicated public health profession education and professionals in accelerating health development. We sincerely hope for the support, prayers, and cooperation from all parties so that the improvement in the quality of public health education and professionalism of healthcare workers can soon be realized and continuously improved.”
