The International Labor Organization reports that one worker dies every 15 seconds due to occupational accidents or occupational illnesses. Every 15 seconds, 160 occupational accidents occur in the world. In Indonesia, over the past 5 years, cases of occupational accidents have shown an increase to 103,285 cases in 2013 from 96,314 cases in 2009. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, previously known as PT Jamsostek, noted that in Indonesia, every day no less than 9 people die due to occupational accidents, compared to 2 people in England. Therefore, the high number of occupational accidents urges efforts to prevent occupational accidents or illnesses.
