Introduction

Biostatistics is a fundamental discipline in Public Health Science playing a key role in supporting the concept of evidence-based public health that is decision-making based on scientific evidence. In the Department of Biostatistics and Population Studies, the scientific focus comprises three major fields: Biostatistics, which includes the analysis and application of statistical methods in health research; Health Informatics, which emphasizes the management and analysis of health data through information technology; and Population Studies, which covers population dynamics and its impact on public health. These three fields support each other in developing a comprehensive understanding of the application of public health science.
