The Doctor of Epidemiology degree program at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia (UI) has received operational permission with the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 428/DIKTI/kep/1998 and the Epidemiology Study Program has two specializations: Clinical Epidemiology and Community-based Epidemiology.

To support the achievement of vision of the UI Faculty of Public Health by being a doctoral educational institution in the field of Epidemiology that plays an active role in developing quality human resources in Indonesia and at international level.

1. To organize a quality doctoral program in Epidemiology in a sustainable manner according to international standards by taking into account the personality and characteristics of the university and the faculty as well as the health needs and problems in Indonesia;
2. To conduct research on Epidemiology that is excellent, creative, innovative, and effective in a sustainable manner at international standards;
3. To perform community engagement through the application of epidemiological science and methods to improve public health;
4. To improve the quality of study program in a sustainable manner.

1. To create an inclusive educational community, based on manners, trust, integrity, mutual respect and diversity in a safe and friendly environment.
2. To prepare students to be intelligent and conscientious graduates by providing clear and focused educational programs so as to implement, develop, enrich and advance science, technology and culture.
3. To develop and disseminate science, technology, and culture, and seek their application to improve the dignity and life of people, and enrich national culture.
4. To encourage and strengthen the development of existing sciences, as well as new sciences and studies in monodisciplinary, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary fields to address the challenges of more complex life problems.
5. To encourage and support active participation of academics in the development and service of a democratic, prosperous and civilized society as an independent moral force.
6. To improve the quantity and quality of service to the nation and the world through collaboration, partnerships, and opportunities for cultural enrichment and continuing education.
7. To invest in professional development for the UI academic community and also in useful technologies to achieve competitive advantage through teaching, research, and community engagement.

1. The Doctor of Epidemiology degree program at the UI Faculty of Public Health is the only doctoral program in Epidemiology in Indonesia and has an accredited predicate of “Excellent” in 2022-2027.
2. The Doctor of Epidemiology degree program has qualified teaching staff in the field of Epidemiology and always encourages students to play an active role in solving various health problems and in completing their studies.
3. The Doctor of Epidemiology degree program has a curriculum that is constantly updated to accommodate current conditions and modern technology.
4. The Doctor of Epidemiology degree program consistently fosters a conducive academic atmosphere.

A Doctor of Epidemiology who is capable of developing the science and methods of Epidemiology to solve health problems related to discipline of Epidemiology through appropriate and evidence-based model with interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches for research and community engagement development, and developing recommendations by advocating to policy makers and/or decision makers that apply nationally and internationally.
