The Master of Occupational Health and Safety degree program at the Faculty of Public Health, Universitas Indonesia (UI), is a pioneer in Master’s education level in the field of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in Indonesia. The study program was developed in 1996 and then obtained an operational permit according to the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 428 / DIKTI / Kep / 1998. Furthermore, on February 7, 2000, the study program was managed by the faculty’s Department of OHS in accordance with the Decree of Rector of UI No.018/SK/R/UI/ 2000. Currently, the study Program has been ‘Excellent’ accredited from the LAM-PTKES (November 24, 2023 – November 23, 2028).

To be the Master of Occupational Health and Safety degree program that is of high quality and leading in the development of OHS science and technology, thus having widely known at the national and Southeast Asian levels to support the achievement of the vision of the UI Faculty of Public Health.

1. To organize academic activities including education, research, and community engagement to produce quality, reliable graduates who are capable of developing OHS science and technology to face the OHS challenges in the government, the business world, the industrial world, and the community.
2. To make the study program a center for the development of OHS scientific and technological models that are at the forefront at national, regional and international levels through quality educational activities.
3. To make the study program a reference in organizing the Master’s degree program in OHS in Indonesia and Asia.

1. To create graduates with analytical acumen and independent thinking in comprehending the OHS from academic and practical perspectives, such as in its development and management in companies and in the lives of the general public.
2. To create graduates with systems-framework thinking skills to integrate OHS management systems into company management systems and the general public’s life systems.
3. To create graduates who are capable of developing discourse on OHS systems in each aspect of company activities and in the lives of the general public.

1. Excellent Accreditation: Recognized as one of the best programs in Indonesia with ‘Excellent’ result of accreditation from national accreditation institution (LAM-PTKes).
2. Integrated and Competency-Based Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to develop practical knowledge and skills, covering risk management, ergonomics, occupational health, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and human factors & behavior in OHS.
3. Collaboration with Industry: Strategic partnerships with companies and government agencies provide access to internships, collaborative research, and career development.
4. Well-Established Alumni Network: Graduates of the program have a broad and strong professional network in the industry, government, and academic sector, supporting future career development.

Masters who are capable of developing and implementing the knowledge in the form of data-based intervention programs for OHS issues.
