The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) proudly announces the results of the Faculty-Level Selection for the 2025 Outstanding Student Competition (Pilmapres) at FPH UI. This marks the final stage of the selection process at the faculty level. The announcement took place at the Doctoral Promotion Room, Building G, FPH UI, on Friday, March 21, 2025. Pilmapres is an annual event aimed at recognizing students who excel academically, possess strong communication skills, and contribute to innovation and social activities in the field of public health. Beyond serving as an appreciation, this selection process is also the initial step for students who will represent FPH UI in the university-level Pilmapres competition.
In his speech, FPH UI’s Student Affairs Manager, Dien Anshari, S.Sos, M.Si, Ph.D., explained that the Outstanding Student Competition is a multi-level event that begins with faculty-level selection, followed by university, regional, and national levels. The selection process at FPH UI commenced with the appointment of a panel of judges to ensure an objective and credible evaluation before opening the registration period from January to February 2025. Additionally, participants received special training, including a Scientific Paper Writing workshop by Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc., and a presentation skills workshop in English by Dr. Fathimah Sulistyowati Sigit, M.Res., Ph.D. “We want to ensure that every participant not only excels academically but also possesses strong communication and analytical skills. Therefore, the selection process does not only assess achievements but also provides students with the necessary training to grow further,” said Dr. Dien.
This year, five students from three study programs—Public Health, Environmental Health, and Occupational Health and Safety—registered for the Pilmapres selection at FPH UI. Participants submitted their Curriculum Vitae (CV) and scientific papers as the initial selection stage before being evaluated for the semifinal round. The semifinal stage involved a scientific paper presentation session, which resulted in the selection of the top three finalists. “Through these stages, we hope to identify students who are not only outstanding but also ready to compete at the university level and beyond,” added Dr. Dien.
The final selection stage involved an impromptu speech and a writing test. Based on the comprehensive evaluation results, the top three winners were determined, along with the first and second runner-ups. The winners were announced directly by the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., who also expressed appreciation for the students’ dedication throughout this competition. In her speech, Prof. Mondastri emphasized that Pilmapres is not only valuable for participating students but also holds significant importance for FPH UI in terms of credibility and faculty branding. Furthermore, she stressed that FPH UI students have great potential to excel in various competitions. However, in the future, greater academic support, including from faculty members and the academic community, will be essential in encouraging students throughout the selection process.
The final results of the Pilmapres selection were announced directly by Prof. Mondastri, based on the evaluation and selection results from the judging panel. Fatiha Farah Sinta Dewi, a 2022 Public Health student, was awarded First Place in the 2025 FPH UI Outstanding Student Competition and will represent the faculty at the university level. Under the guidance of Dr. drg. Masyitoh, M.A.R.S., and through her perseverance, Farah secured the title with her scientific paper titled “Realizing Inclusive Satu Sehat through a Community-Based Approach.” Her work highlights the digital gap in implementing the Satu Sehat system and proposes a community-based intervention model, CHIP-Kampung Lio, to enhance digital health literacy and prevent disparities in healthcare access due to digital transformation.
Meanwhile, M. Nanda Putra Pratama, a 2022 Environmental Health student, secured Second Place with his scientific paper titled “SANTRA HUB: Revitalization of Green Spaces at Bus Stops through Urban Terrarium-Based Solutions to Reduce Air Pollution and Urban Stress.” Supervised by Dr. Laila Fitria, S.K.M., M.K.M., his paper introduces the concept of integrating urban terrariums into bus stops, incorporating vertical green walls with pollutant-absorbing plants such as Devil’s Ivy and Pachira. This innovation aims to reduce urban air pollution while creating functional green spaces to mitigate the effects of Urban Heat Island (UHI) and urban stress.
Third Place was awarded to Salwa Fadhillah, a 2022 Occupational Health and Safety student. Under the supervision of Abdul Kadir, S.K.M., M.Sc., Salwa excelled with her scientific paper titled “Submarine: Occupational Health and Safety for Fishermen through the Mobile OHS Program and Safe Friend Initiative.” Her research emphasizes the importance of implementing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures in the maritime sector to protect workers’ rights, prevent workplace accidents, and improve fishermen’s productivity.
Additionally, Bryan Akhtur Alexander won First Runner-Up, while Sarah Fahira Faza secured Second Runner-Up. Both students demonstrated exceptional performance and made valuable contributions to the 2025 FPH UI Outstanding Student Competition.
Prof. Mondastri expressed hope that FPH UI will continue to enhance its recognition and support for outstanding students, including financial assistance. More than just a competition, Pilmapres serves as an academic milestone that will positively impact students’ academic and professional journeys. “Congratulations on your achievements. We all have the potential given by Allah SWT to be the best, at least for ourselves,” said Prof. Mondastri.
FPH UI proudly appreciates all participants who have strived in this competition. The Outstanding Student Competition is not merely a contest but also a platform for students to develop their potential, showcase innovations, and create tangible impacts on society. It is hoped that this event will continue to grow in the coming years, with more students participating and bringing the name of FPH UI to higher levels, both at the university, national, and international stages.
