FPH UI and BPJS Kesehatan Hold Public Health Colloquium 2025 on the Theme “Clean and Quality Health Insurance (Fraud-Free)”

Depok, October 21, 2025 — Following the success of the Public Health Colloquium 2025: Public Exposé to Jurnal JKN held on July 16, 2025, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) once again collaborated with BPJS Kesehatan in a scientific writing initiative. In this second part of the Public Health Colloquium 2025 held on October 21, 2025, BPJS Kesehatan—particularly the Directorate of Legal Affairs, Prevention, and Fraud Handling—partnered with FPH UI to organize a call for papers and colloquium aimed at increasing awareness of all forms of fraud in the National Health Insurance (JKN) system.

Prof. Dr. Dra. Dewi Susanna, M.S., Chief Editor of Kesmas: Jurnal Kesehatan Masyarakat Nasional (National Public Health Journal)—a Scopus-indexed (Q3) and SINTA 1 journal under FPH UI—delivered the opening remarks. “This activity is highly beneficial for identifying, anticipating, and obtaining scientific insights related to fraud, to ensure that the National Health Insurance (JKN) remains clean and of high quality,” she stated. Meanwhile, Dr. Medianti Ellya Permatasari, AAK., Director of Legal Affairs, Prevention, and Fraud Handling at BPJS Kesehatan, also delivered a report and opening remarks. “The call for papers was open from August to September and resulted in 128 submissions. The interest was remarkable—not only from academics but also from BPJS Kesehatan employees who shared their field experiences on fraud through scientific articles,” she explained.

All submitted manuscripts underwent plagiarism and AI screening by BPJS Kesehatan, from which 40 manuscripts were selected for further substantive and editorial review by Kesmas Journal. After a rigorous selection process, 20 manuscripts were shortlisted, and the five best papers will be awarded during The 1st Indonesia Healthcare Anti-Fraud Forum (INAHAF) organized by BPJS Kesehatan in December. The judging panel consists of 10 steering committee members from BPJS Kesehatan and FPH UI, including Dr. Nurul Ghufron, S.H., M.H.; Prof. Dr. dr. Herkutanto, Sp.F., S.H., LLM.; and Prof. dr. Adang Bachtiar, M.P.H., D.Sc. The colloquium served as a mentoring forum to refine the 20 selected manuscripts, ensuring that the five best papers would be ready for publication in Jurnal JKN—an accredited SINTA 4 journal managed by BPJS Kesehatan.

The second part of the colloquium followed a similar format to the previous one but began with a lecture on scientific writing and international journal publication by Dr.rer.medic.drg. Dwi Gayatri, M.P.H., Managing Editor of Kesmas Journal. Participants were divided into small groups, each guided by two facilitators from BPJS Kesehatan and FPH UI. Facilitators from BPJS Kesehatan included Dr. Medianti Ellya Permatasari, AAK.; Heny Rahayuningsih, S.H., M.H.; Theo Suwanda, S.H., M.H.; Arif Sugiharto, S.T.; and Dr. Sofia, M.K.M. Meanwhile, facilitators from FPH UI comprised Prof. Dr. Dra. Dewi Susanna, M.S.; Prof. Dr. Drs. Tris Eryando, M.A.; Dr.rer.medic.drg. Dwi Gayatri, M.P.H.; Dr. Pujiyanto, S.K.M., M.Kes.; and Dr. Puput Oktamianti, S.K.M., M.M.

The event was held in a hybrid format at the Doctoral Promotion Room, Building G, 1st Floor, FPH UI, and via Zoom Meeting, running from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (DIF)
