From October 7 to 9, 2024, the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) of the Universitas Indonesia (UI) reaffirmed its commitment to the internationalization of the faculty. The Dean of the Faculty of Public Health (FPH) UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., along with the Manager of Cooperation, Alumni Relations, and Ventures at FPH UI, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D., and the Head of the Bachelor of Public Health Program, Prof. Dr. Robiana Modjo, S.K.M., M.Kes., conducted a visit to explore cooperation with two partner universities in Thailand.
Mahidol University, one of the destinations for this visit, is a partner university with a history of collaboration in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education with FPH UI. During the visit on October 7, 2024, the FPH UI leadership engaged in discussions with the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at Mahidol University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Thepanondh, and his team. The discussions focused on academic collaboration and research.
Several key points were discussed, including the potential for a Fast Track program for students, a joint supervision program, and joint publications. Mahidol University welcomed these collaboration opportunities, and further detailed discussions were recommended to take place in the near future. The visit to Mahidol University concluded with the signing of a cooperation agreement in the Tri Dharma of Higher Education between the two parties.
On October 8, 2024, the FPH UI leadership visited Mae Fah Luang University. This university, founded to meet the needs of the people in northern Thailand and in memory of the Queen Mother, known to the people as “Mae Fah Luang,” became a new partner for FPH UI. The team was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wipob Suttana, Acting Dean of Mae Fah Luang University, and his team. FPH UI leaders had the opportunity to visit several laboratories at Mae Fah Luang University. The visit aimed to review and discuss the facilities and Tri Dharma activities at the university. The three laboratories visited were the Environmental Toxicology Laboratory, the Environmental Health Laboratory, and the Integrated Public Health Laboratory.
“Moving forward, FPH UI will continue to seize opportunities for cooperation with renowned universities worldwide. It is time for FPH UI to offer students learning experiences that meet international standards, making the learning experience at FPH UI more tangible, memorable, and beneficial,” said Prof. Indri.
