This event served as a platform for the academic community and the extended family of FPH UI to express their opinions, feedback, and aspirations directly to the university leadership.
In her opening remarks, the Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc., emphasized that this event was a valuable opportunity for all elements within FPH UI to discuss and exchange views with the UI Rector. “This event allows us to voice various opinions, feedback, aspirations, and engage in a Q&A session with the Rector. Thank you, Rector, for reaching out and listening to us,” stated Prof. Mondastri.
The Rector of UI for the 2024-2029 period, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., underscored the importance of communication between the university leadership and all faculties as part of UI’s broader strategic direction. “Our team has been fully formed and ready to sail since February 28, 2025—we call it the ‘super team.’ We started by initiating communication with all faculties at UI. Communication is the foundation for the next steps toward success. That is why we began by engaging in a town hall event during UI’s Anniversary and continued by reaching out to faculties and students,” explained Prof. Heri.
Furthermore, the UI Rector stated that one of the main objectives of this initiative was to introduce the new UI leadership so that the entire UI community understands the proper channels for conveying their aspirations. During his presentation, the Rector also elaborated on the structural changes in leadership compared to the previous period and the management of UI’s endowment funds as part of the university’s financial sustainability strategy.
Following the Rector’s presentation, a discussion session was opened, featuring various questions and suggestions from FPH UI faculty members and administrative staff. Topics discussed included proposals from the Department of Physical Education regarding health management for students, faculty, and administrative staff, budget absorption, best practices in budget management between UI and departments, and efforts to advance scientific development, research, and innovation at the department level as the university’s frontline units.
Meanwhile, questions from administrative staff covered issues such as performance allowances for civil servants, recognition of tenure for newly appointed administrative staff, the opening of permanent staff positions for administrative personnel, functional position development, and clarity on the appointment of contract-based administrative staff.
All questions and aspirations were directly addressed by the UI Rector and the Vice Rector for Planning, Finance, and Resources, Ahmad Gamal, S.Ars., M.Si., MUP., Ph.D. This discussion was expected to pave the way for improvements and the development of more inclusive and transparent policies within UI.
