FPH UI Inaugurates Educational Facility Grant from Samudera Indonesia to Support Modern Learning Transformation

Depok, August 12, 2025 — The Faculty of Public Health (FPH) Universitas Indonesia (UI) has further strengthened its commitment to providing internationally standardized learning facilities with the inauguration of an educational facility grant from Samudera Indonesia. The grant consists of two smart classrooms and one smart meeting room, which are now ready to be utilized in support of academic activities, research, and collaboration. This partnership represents a tangible synergy between industry and higher education institutions.

The inauguration ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Building G, FPH UI, and was attended by the UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Ir. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, M.Sc., Ph.D.; Dean of FPH UI, Prof. dr. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, M.S., D.Sc.; Head of the Department of Epidemiology FPH UI, Prof. dr. Asri C. Adisasmita, M.P.H., M.Phil., Ph.D.; Professor at the Department of Epidemiology FPH UI, Prof. Dr. dr. Ratna Djuwita, M.P.H.; Manager for Partnerships, Alumni Relations, and Ventures FPH UI, Prof. Indri Hapsari Susilowati, S.K.M., M.K.K.K., Ph.D.; President Director of Samudera Indonesia, Bani Maulana Mulia; Board Member of the Samudera Indonesia Education Foundation, Artika Fasya Meinita; and Managing Director of PT Praweda Sarana Informatika, Api Rando Permana.

Dean of FPH UI, Prof. Mondastri Korib Sudaryo, expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude for the support given by Samudera Indonesia. “This grant not only provides physical facilities but also reflects a concrete strategic collaboration between industry and academia in advancing education quality. These facilities will serve as spaces for innovation that strengthen interactive and collaborative learning for students, faculty, and FPH UI partners,” he stated. Prof. Mondastri further emphasized that this collaboration was born from a shared vision between FPH UI and Samudera Indonesia to build a more knowledgeable and prosperous society through higher education. He also conveyed his thanks for the CSR grant valued at IDR 978.7 million, noting that strategic partnerships with businesses and industries are key to building a strong, impactful reputation in line with UI’s motto, “Excellent and Impactful.”

UI Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Mahmud Sudibandriyo, also underlined that industry support for education is a crucial factor in shaping future generations of excellence. According to him, the smart classrooms and smart meeting room donated by Samudera Indonesia represent a long-term investment in the advancement of learning and research at UI, particularly within FPH UI. He added that these facilities will strengthen interactive, collaborative, and technology-adaptive learning processes, in line with UI’s commitment to continuous innovation in the era of digital transformation.

Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, Samudera Indonesia contributed two smart classrooms equipped with the latest audio-visual technology, hybrid learning support tools, and comfortable modern interiors. Meanwhile, the smart meeting room was designed to support strategic meetings, research discussions, and engagements with international partners, both online and onsite.

President Director of Samudera Indonesia, Bani Maulana Mulia, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the development of higher education in Indonesia. “We sincerely thank FPH UI for giving us the opportunity to contribute to campus activities and facilities. We hope this collaboration will be a strong starting point that motivates us to contribute even more, as industry support like that of Samudera Indonesia is truly needed. We also hope that these facilities will be utilized optimally to advance education,” he remarked.

With these modern facilities, FPH UI is increasingly prepared to move toward adaptive, innovative, and relevant learning transformation in the digital era, while strengthening its position as one of the leading schools of public health in Indonesia. (wrk)
